Description
PLEASE NOTE:
You can now soak in the new geothermal 'Yellowstone Hot Spring' close to the Corwin Springs bridge, only 2 miles away. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the warm waters of the Yellowstone River with magnificent mountain views all around! (See picture in photo gallery.)
Yellowstone Vacation Home is uniquely located on a hillside ringed by towering mountains, and is surrounded by quiet US Forest Service public lands that you can hike in and usually have all to yourself. It has gorgeous views of Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River. This home is only 11 miles (a 15 minute drive) from the town of Gardiner, the north entrance of Yellowstone Park.
Standing on the deck of this home, you'll enjoy gorgeous views in every direction. If you like fishing, you'll have easy access to Yellowstone River and to all the fishing areas in Yellowstone Park. There is even a small lake located only a half mile from the house. Wildlife photographers, this place is for you! Close to the cabin you are likely to see mule deer, elk, antelope, bald eagles, big horn sheep and many bunnies! We have an outdoor fire pit with a view where you can make s'mores!
We recommend that you bring a 4WD or AWD vehicle, which can be necessary on the gravel/dirt road to the house if there has been a big downpour or an extended period of rain or snow. Most of the time, and especially in June, July and August, 2WD is sufficient.
There are many fun things to do in the area year round. Fishing, hiking, horseback riding and river rafting trips are available nearby and, of course, all the wonders of Yellowstone Park.
This 2-story, 1200 square foot, 3 BR, 1 BA, cedar home sits on a one acre property that is fully fenced, and has a nicely maintained lawn. Pets are allowed which works well on this fenced property. The three bedrooms sleep 6 to 8 people, with one queen-size bed, a pair of twin beds, a bunk bed, and two fold-up foam pads. Features include WiFi, forced air heating and air conditioning, a wood burning fireplace, washer/dryer, satellite TV, DVD player, and a CD player. There are a variety of games, DVDs, and CDs for the use of our guests. No smoking please.
A cozy cabin feeling is engendered by the fir woodwork on most walls and ceilings. The spacious downstairs bathroom features two sinks and a shower-tub. The cabin has an extra large 75 gallon hot water heater. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a glass top electric range, dish washer, microwave, large refrigerator and a gas grill provided on the deck. This home is well supplied - we provide linens, towels, a hair dryer, all paper goods, hand soaps, dish washing soaps, laundry soaps, trash can liners, etc. The comfort of our guests is important to us!
You'll love the peace and quiet as you gaze at the mountains and the Yellowstone River while enjoying a meal on the wrap-around deck. You'll see the sun set over Paradise Valley in the crux of the canyon, often with spectacular colors.
Please note: Vacations in May, September and October can be a good option, because the weather is not as hot as mid-summer, and Yellowstone Park has fewer visitors. In May there are many sweet newborns to observe among the wildlife. In late Sept./early Oct. the autumn colors are at their peak.
The only car-accessible park entrance that remains open year-round is the north entrance in Gardiner. Mammoth Hot Springs, the park headquarters, is only a 5 mile drive from Gardiner. The road leading to Mammoth also remains open all winter all the way through to Tower Falls, the Lamar Valley and Cooke City. The Lamar Valley is a great place for wildlife viewing during this time of the year. The other park roads are closed to cars during the winter, from early November through mid-March. During that period those roads are only open to winter transport including snow coaches, snowmobiles, and cross-country skiers.
Our favorite activity is to soak in the outdoor hot spring pools at Boiling River. Its parking area is only 3 miles inside the park from Gardiner. You walk a half mile along a path bordering the Gardiner River, until you get to a place where a creek of hot geothermal water flows into the river. Rocks are piled up to create natural pools where the hot water mingles with the cold river water to create comfortable places to soak and relax. When you get out, even though the air is cold, you still feel warm as you get dressed.
Hunters are also welcome at Yellowstone Vacation Home. This area of Montana, just north of Yellowstone Park, receives hundreds of elk migrating out of Yellowstone Park each winter. There is also a year-round resident herd of elk in the mountains just above the cabin, and mule deer are abundant in the area. Hunting, in-season, is open to the public on all of the vast U.S. Forest Service lands that surround the cabin for miles. You can literally just walk out the gate and hunt in the surrounding Forest Service lands (license required.)
If you're looking for wildlife sightings close to the cabin and beautiful views in the quiet seclusion of pristine Montana surroundings, with easy access to the attractions of Yellowstone Park, and the fishing and white water rafting opportunities of Yellowstone River, you will be delighted with your stay at our Yellowstone Vacation Home!

This was a great property. I thoroughly enjoyed waking up each day to the gorgeous views and seeing the deer outside the yard. The home was equipped with everything I needed. Will definitely rent again since it is in my favorite place in the world.
This was an amazing little cabin. It was accommodating in every possible way and the some! Games, books, DVD's and every possible dish, spice and gadget needed in the kitchen. We cooked 2 to 3 meals daily and were supplied well by the well appointed kitchen. Also, there was laundry detergent, dish detergent and on and on. We overlooked a valley with the Yellowstone River running through it as we were surrounded by snow capped mountains. We very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving Holiday Break at this cabin. We also enjoyed visiting the Yellowstone Hotsprings which is on the corner of the road you turn on to get to the cabin.
We loved staying here!! The view was simply amazing!! It’s such a peaceful place to get away from all the noise of everyday life!! The home was very clean, everything we needed was there!! All the perks of home in a beautiful place!! Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful cabin!! We will be back, but next time with our family!! Be blessed! ✝️ Be well! 💖 Be happy! 😊

Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We'd love to have you come back with your family! All the best!
"This trip was just amazing! It has been on our ‘bucket list’ for many years and a dream come true. Your house was amazing and well stocked. My husband really enjoyed watching the elk in AM and PM coming off the mountains. Did not see any bears or wolves, but seen everything else! Thank you so much for everything and hope to return several more times."
Was a great experience for all. Beautiful views, lots of wild life. Great location.
Owner Response
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! For anyone who is hoping to see a lot of wildlife, this is indeed a great location - you might see elk coming down the mountain morning and evening to drink from the river. And on your way to the house you are likely to see herds of deer or elk along the road. Even bighorn sheep frequent the area. You are welcome back any time!
Fabulous home. 7 of us stayed here with plenty of space. Working kitchen, washer and dryer, plenty of hot water and a location that was unforgettable. Great communication with owners, they clearly worked hard with us to make things easy and right.... We would definitely come back!!
This was a fantastic off-the-grid rental out in Paradise Valley. The entire property is well taken care of, and with the gate, fence, and remote hillside, you feel like you have your own slice of the valley. Very welcoming, warm home...take note of all of the comments on the drive to the house, especially in the winter months. Also, no cell service, and Wifi is limited bandwidth, so be aware. We had no issues, but it is a remote location!
Owner Response
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our Yellowstone Vacation Home! It's more accurate to describe this house as secluded because it's not really off-the-grid as you say. This home is connected to the electric grid and we have a landline phone there available to our guests, with long distance service. Cell phone reception is good about 1/4 mile from the house but the home is in a valley between towering mountains that mostly block the signal right at the house. You can of course use your phone with WIFI though. We have Satellite WIFI with the highest speed available (25Mbps), and we provide Dish Network satellite TV with hundreds of channels. Regarding the road condition, we have been working together with the county in the last year to get the gravel road improved by getting 8 truck loads of gravel added at our expense this past Spring. Regarding the road in winter, the house is now closed each winter from Dec. 1 to April 19. Montana winters can be intense. This location is great for people who want to be in a peaceful secluded area with no other homes around, where one can enjoy magnificent views of the Paradise Valley and Yellowstone River below, ringed by towering mountains. Bird songs, wildlife sightings and fantastic sunsets are the norm at this amazing place that has to be experienced to be believed.
A bit off the beaten path, but worth it. After often crowded, busy days in Yellowstone, returning to the quiet and solitude was amazing. There was a heard of over 300 elk on the drive to the main road. Pronghorn in the field below and bunnies everywhere. Very nice. Thank you,
Owner Response
Thank you for your nice review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It's true that wildlife can be seen regularly both from the house and from the road leading to the house. You are welcome back any time!
We have had a wonder experience at Yellowstone! This cabin was the perfect place to stay. My sons have enjoyed exploring around the place. I enjoyed the seclusion away from the crowds at the lodges in the park. Thank you for having everything so neat and clean. It's so inviting and cozy. On our first morning a large herd of deer was grazing right outside the fence. It was beautiful. Nightly clouds have prevented much star gazing, but I'm sure it's spectacular too. Thanks again for providing our home base for this trip of a lifetime!
The home is very nice, beautiful views. Road to get to property was an adventure. :-) The only thing I can offer is maybe not advertise that you have WiFi when your instructions on the WiFi use is pretty much don't use it.
Owner Response
We are really glad you enjoyed your stay at our Yellowstone Vacation Home. Only days after your stay the County graded the road leading to our vacation home, and added 8 truck loads of gravel, which has improved the road greatly. Regarding the Wifi, this home has a satellite Wifi connection from Hughes.net providing 25 Mbps speed. It's not as fast as some people expect when coming from cities, but it is adequate for accessing the internet and staying in communication. We welcome people using it.
My wife and I recently stayed at this property to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. Property was very secluded with great views of the mountains and wildlife. Was about 20 minutes to Gardiner and just a few minutes more to N entrance of Yellowstone. The Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
The home is delightful, the facilities are excellent and the view spectacular. Two nights out of three the valley filled with Elk (we stopped counting at 200) We stayed at the end of May and the sun stays on the house till late in the evening and the company of rabbits and birds make it a peaceful place to end your day. Only 15 mins from Gardiner and the North Entrance of Yellowstone also make it ideal. The track leading to the house is best reached by a sturdy vehicle and I should imagine in the wet or snow a 4x4 is a must. Bruce & Magdalena were easy to deal with and helpful with questions. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and will definitely come back. Ian & Lally
Everything was so easy. They leave notes for everything you could possibly have a question for (how to start the fireplace, where supplies are, etc). The kitchen is more than fully stocked: spices, coffee filters, crockpot, all cooking utensils, even food for us to use. The wildlife right outside the cabin is amazing. We were there during spring so we saw hundreds of elk and mule deer every morning and evening. We pass them on our way to and from the cabin.
We were very pleased with our cabin which is located quite a distance off the main road on the Old Yellowstone Trail giving us the solitude we hoped for. It had everything we needed and then some. The view of the canyon and surrounding hills was magnificent. Our only negative was a very step set of shallow stairs to the bedrooms upstairs with the bathroom downstairs. Bruce and Magdalena were very helpful when we needed an extra day and thankfully the house was available. Hubert, the groundskeeper, greeted us on arrival and offered valuable info to the house and area. The kitchen was stocked beyond expectation. And plenty of firewood and kindling was set out for our rather cool mornings. Thank you for making you stay so enjoyable!
Owner Response
You are welcome! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We would like to clarify that we are and always have advertised this property as having the bathroom downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs, so it's good to be aware of that ahead of time. There is a railing along the stairway which should be helpful when going up or down the stairs.
A nice place to stay, although be aware that it is a 20 or so-minute drive to the park entrance. We spent the entire day in the park and left early and got back after dark, so we didn't really get to enjoy the solitude of this place or the river, which is a relatively short walk away. However, if you want to relax in a peaceful setting away from the bustle of town or the crowds of the park, this is the perfect place. I would absolutely recommend it, but again, be aware that running to town for something is not a quick, easy task.
Owner Response
We are gllad you enjoyed the location of our vacation home, where sightings of herd of elk and deer grazing in the valley are a common sight. The drive to town is just 11 miles and it tends to take 15 minutes.
Our family (six persons) had a great time staying at your place! We spent the days exploring the wildlife and nature in Yellowstone (we had a picnic watching bisons directly in front of us) and enjoyed relaxing in your beautiful and remote house. Even if we didn't see wildlife on the meadow in front of the house (already to dry this time of the year, perhaps), we really enjoyed the stunning view! The communication with Bruce and Magdalena was great and they sent us helpful instructions in advance, so we found the house easily and knew how to use all facilities. The house is perfect equipped, we found all we needed. Perhaps a second toilette would be helpful for six persons, but that's the only disadvantage. A wonderful place to stay, thanks a lot. We'd love to come back some time.
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, This was our first trip to Yellowstone, and we wanted to say it was an excellent trip! First off, the cabin was perfect, even more than we expected. Everything was clean, organized and set up for a fun trip! While visiting the Park we encountered many animals including 15 bears, 1 coyote, 1 eagle, 3 wolves, 1 fox, 6 mountain goats and also thousands of elk and bison! We also went on many hikes and highly recommend Fairy Falls, Mystic Falls and Mount Washburn! We found Lamar Valley the best spot for wildlife especially in the early morning/evening! This was our first trip to a National Park and easily one of the best vacations we ever experienced! So, thank you for providing everything needed for the best of Yellowstone. Thank You! June 2018 Medina, Ohio
This is our second time staying in this wonderful house. We will never stay anywhere else in the Gardiner MT area. We love this place. The view is incredible. House is spotless clean. Has everything you need. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home. Chris,Sherri Mc
Had a wonderful time exploring Yellowstone Park. Cabin is very well kept and has everything you would need. Beautiful location to just sit out on the porch in the morning and enjoy the views. If you enjoy solitude and the quiet this cabin is for you. Thanks again to the owners for letting our family enjoy the cabin.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. It was clean, well cared for and perfect for a family of 5. After battling crowds in Yellowstone it was wonderful to come back to a place that was quiet and beautiful. We highly recommend this home! It is a great vacation spot.
Very clean house with more basics provided than other vacation rentals. Appreciated not having to purchase paper goods, hand soap, etc. Location was ideal-excellent privacy while being close enough to Gardiner and Yellowstone. We watched "our" elk herd daily on the road to the house and saw one elk swim across the Yellowstone River from the deck. Would definitely come back and have already recommended to friends!
Had a great time. The view in the mornings and afternoon are some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see, also the mule deer and elk coming down off the hillside into the valley are great. Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Stayed 4 nights and with we could have stayed longer. Springtime is less crowded at Yellowstone, but you have to get lucky with the weather. Would absolutely come back.
We enjoyed the location of the cabin and the wildlife around it. Walking to the river to fish was very easy and nice! Most things in the Park were closed and there were road closures and construction, but we had the best weather and saw everything except the ‘Grand Canyon’ and wolves. The cabin is very clean and well stocked and that was great. I learned how to play horse-shoes but concluded that my husband is a cheater! I swear he makes up rules as he goes. Great time to visit – we thoroughly enjoyed it
What a perfect place to stay! Everything was so clean and so well stocked! We really enjoyed the solitude of the cabin while still being close enough to the park to go every day. Thank you for sharing your lovely home! We will definitely be back and can’t think of a better place to stay! We hiked in the park and around the house as well. The huge herd of elk that we saw moving from the valley was breathtaking. We got here in 80 degree weather and experienced snow and 28 degree weather on our last day here. Montana/Wyoming has captured our Louisiana hearts! Thanks for everything!
Owner Response
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. You're welcome back any time. It's true, this vacation home is a great place for viewing wildlife. And hiking in the area around the house offers great views of Yellowstone River and Paradise Valley. Until next time!
Thank you for sharing your vacation home. We had a lovely time. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the porch and watching wildlife in nearby fields. Yellowstone was great. Views were amazing! Night star gazing was fun too. So many stars! We will be back to this beautiful part of the country again, some day. Thank you again!
I've never been in a rental that has thought of everything a person could need. I mean everything. There are notes explaining how to use things which at first seem silly but then you realize it's thoughtful because it eliminates any guessing you may have. The location is more remote than I realized and some may not like that. The road leading to the house is a doozy. There were a few wash out ruts, regular ruts, and some large holes. I wouldn't take a car on this road even with awd. You really need more clearance. We saw a herd of elk nightly along the road which we looked forward to. The biggest frustration was internet. The bandwidth is so slow you really can't research activities or attempt to plan day trips etc. checking email is about it. I'd suggest looking into Hugh's net to see if they provide service because dishnet is really next to worthless. We also loved seeing the magpies each day in the yard. Overall, it's a great place to stay and quite relaxing. Gardiner was busy and it was nice to be away from that, although you're just a 10 minute drive from the shops and restaurants. I was pretty pleased but the road definitely needs some attention if at all possible.
Owner Response
PROSPECTIVE RENTERS, PLEASE NOTE: THE ROAD TO THE HOUSE WAS GRADED (SMOOTHED OUT) BY THE COUNTY ON AUGUST 25, 6 DAYS AFTER THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED. ALSO, ON THE SAME DAY OUR LONG-AWAITED INSTALLATION OF HUGHSNET SATELLITE INTERNET WAS DONE. WE NOW HAVE WIFI AT THE HOUSE AT SPEEDS CAPABLE OF STREAMING VIDEO (25 MBPS DOWNLOAD SPEED AND 3 MBPS UPLOAD SPEED.) The road grading is done at least annually by the county. As explained on this listing, you should be fine with any vehicle with AWD or 4WD. (2WD works fine if the road is dry.) This historic vacation home was fully remodeled in the 1990s. Much of the house has original walls and ceilings of tongue and groove fir that were refinished at that time, adding a clean rustic charm. This is a great location for watching herds of deer and elk in the fields around the house as they come down the mountain mornings or evenings to drink from the river, or along the road leading from the highway to the vacation home. Yes, our vacation home is off the beaten path and the reward is total privacy, abundant wildlife, and fantastic views of the Yellowstone River and Paradise Valley.
My family stayed a week and there is not one negative about this house or its location. Incredible views and the comfort of a wonderful home. Proximity to YNP made it easy to come and go back and forth to the park. There is a herd of approximately 200+ elk that we enjoyed seeing just over the hill everyday when leaving the house. Just a perfect vacation in the perfect home. Thank you for allowing my family to use your house. Chris and Sherri Asheville NC
Dear Magdalena and Bruce, We had so much fun here in Yellowstone. It’s such a beautiful and wild land to explore. It touched our hearts and spirit forever! The house was perfect and we enjoyed everything: view, campfire and wildlife. In Yellowstone we were blessed to see: coyotes, black bears (x3), buffalo, elk, rabbit, geese, swan, bald eagle, momma grizzly with her 2 cubs (that was in Lamar Valley). The incredible journey included a double rainbow in Lamar Valley as we waited out a storm in the evening – very spiritual. Thanks for sharing your home and Blessings to you.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. It was perfect for our home-team of 5 and our first visit to Yellowstone. For our trip from Madison, Wisconsin. we spent one night in Bozeman, one night at Under Canvas in West Yellowstone and the remainder of our stay in your beautiful setting. We toured the entire park, went white water rafting on the Yellowstone River and stopped at most of the park’s natural wonders. But seeing the abundant wildlife was all of our favorite part of the trip. We saw elk and bison right from your patio, a longhorn sheep on our drive from your home into Gardiner, a few pronghorns by your home, and in the park we got up close to a black bear, saw a few bald eagles, and hundreds of bison. We loved coming back to your house each night for family dinners, playing games and making s’mores. On our one rainy day we enjoyed a relaxing day by the fire. Your home provided all of the needed amenities in a quaint setting. It was perfect! Thank you!
We had a wonderful time and felt at home. It is a perfect home for vacation with a perfect view. All the amenities are very well maintained. We enjoyed grilling on the patio. Owners are very good with giving clear instructions to reach the house and also about the things in the house. They were prompt to respond when we needed help. It’s an unforgettable vacation!!
We had an amazing time in Yellowstone!! The house was wonderful and we loved how secluded it was. Everything was very clean and organized. Magdalena and Bruce were very prompt in answering all of our questions and had instructions throughout the house. On our adventures through the Park we saw 15 bears – 1 grizzly mom w/2 cubs; 2 more grizzly moms w/one cub each plus 8 black bears. In Lamar Valley we witnessed a fox killing a fawn and then stalking the second fawn for over 30 minutes before wandering away. Amazing but sad. We also saw multiple bison herds, mule deer, elk and pronghorn. The horseback riding trail with Paradise Adventures was the most beautiful trail I have ever been on (up in mountains with wild flowers everywhere, river, trees – gorgeous!) We also did a whitewater raft trip down Yellowstone River. Thank you so much for an amazing unforgettable adventure! The Frabells, Bud, Jackie, Meghan and Shannon: Strongsville, Ohio
Dear Magdalena and Bruce, What a wonderful experience at your house! Amazing landscape, surprising visits of elk and deer hiking in the hills; everything was gathered in the same place to offer us an unforgettable trip. Some highlights of our trip: - Saw 10 bears (5 black and 5 grizzlies) - The Old Faithful geysers - The wonderful colors of the Grand Prismatic - Seen a wolf eating a baby elk (it was sad but amazing) -All of the other magnificent animals Thank you! The Belgian Family
This is a nice house in a really nice location way off the beaten track. But you've got to be able to reach it first. Even though the rental description clearly states the road and drive are kept plowed this is not really very true. The owner told me they hadn't had to actually have someone plow the road in years, which to their credit, they did before we arrived. However, with just two new inches of snow it was really hard to reach the house. I'm an experienced snow driver and had a big 4 WD vehicle and we fish tailed up and down 4 miles of one lane road with a mountain on one side and a steep drop off/river on the other. I'm sure it's gorgeous when it's not raining or snowing. On our second night (New Year's Eve) we got a half mile down the road and nearly got stuck in 1-2 foot drifts (and there was no new snow this day). We ended up at a hotel in Gardiner that night and in another (not great) HomeAway property for a couple nights, then another hotel. We didn't let it ruin our Yellowstone winter vacation, but it would have for a lot of people. The owners refunded my money for all but the first night, and the cleaning fee, so one night cost over 400 dollars. Really nice handyman actually led us out the first morning to break through the drifts (he shoveled some on the way in he said) and then went back and shoveled out the road and got our stuff on New Years (so we had no stuff for a day too). He was amazing.

Firstly, thank you for the nice things you said about Yellowstone Vacation Home and its beautiful location. And yes, we agree that our caretaker is a very caring and hardworking man. He came quickly, and gladly helped you out, on several occasions when you needed him. We paid him well for that. The thing you're not mentioning here is that you came at the height of what meteorologists called "the worst winter storm to hit the Rockies in 20 years". Heavy snow, strong winds and bitter cold all came together. I sent you an email warning of the extreme conditions you were coming into. You told me that you had been following the weather predictions but had decided to come for your 6 night stay anyway. We paid $600.00 to have our 3 mile stretch of quiet country road cleared of 2 ft. of snow on the day of your arrival, and our caretaker shoveled the entry deck and parking area. You were able to arrive at the house safely and drive out the next morning to Yellowstone Park. Unfortunately, when trying to return, you saw strong winds had blown our road nearly closed again with deep drifts. (This was a day of blowing snow & near zero visibility at times, throughout a vast area of Montana. It was so bad, there were several accidents on nearby Hwy 89.) You called me. It was after dark. We sent our caretaker to you right away to help assess our road. We all decided together that it just wouldn't work for you to try to stay in our remote cabin for 5 more nights during an ongoing storm like that. (Several days of the same extreme conditions were predicted.) So we decided we'd refund all of your rent/tax for the remaining 5 nights and you'd stay in a hotel in town, near Yellowstone for the night. The next morning, we suggested another nice vacation rental with easy highway access, closer to Yellowstone and more expensive, and offered to pay the difference for you. You said you had already made your own plans. Our caretaker drove to the house through the drifts, collected all of your belongings and delivered them to you at the hotel. The amount you actually paid us was the standard rent of $195 for the one night plus the standard $100 cleaning fee. (You also paid $13.65 tax plus the HomeAway service fee of $92.44.) We've had many happy winter renters. It's rare that we need to plow, and you're mistaken in saying our listing says we keep it plowed. We do say that 4WD is a must. Normally, well-packed tire tracks suffice in the 6-12 inches of snow that's usual in that area.
Dear Magdalena and Bruce, Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We’ve had a wonderful time. It was an extra treat seeing bighorn sheep and pronghorn right on the road leading to the house! Thank you.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was a great home base as we explored the area. Lovely view. We enjoyed a hike up the road very much and the wildlife viewing was exceptional! Your house really is truly special. We loved how remote we felt while we were there. Thanks again! Jocelyn H. Durham, NH
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. The house has that rare combination of seclusion and all modern amenities. We were very comfortable here and would love to come back again. We saw antelopes and elk on the way to the house and many other animals in YNP. The deck and views were amazing. Also amazing was having heating, AC, hot water, etc., out in the wilds of Montana. Remote and convenient at the same time. When we arrived the house was spotless. Your housekeeper does an excellent job, and the yard was nicely kept. Also, when the coffeepot malfunctioned, the delivery of a new one was much faster then I expected considering the logistics involved. Very responsive and completely unexpected. As hosts the two of you did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and had everything we needed.
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful place. The house is amazing and the views are beyond belief! While there we saw elk, bighorn sheep (females and babies) and antelope just up the road. Everything in the house and outside made this getaway more than imagined. We would highly recommend the house and would love to come back again. Sincerely, Lori and family, North Carolina
Dear Bruce & Magdalena: What a wonderful house! We had the best Yellowstone vacation ever with your amazing house as our home base. We hiked the Yellowstone Park, saw tons of wildlife and were always happy to return to our Montana house. Thank you for the memories, we will be back!
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, We had an amazing time staying in your home and visiting the surrounding area. Your location is peaceful and relaxing! We really appreciated all the amenities, too! The kitchen had more gadgets than we ever could need during our stay and the books, games and literature were a very pleasant touch! Very welcoming! The whole family enjoyed your beautiful lawn and gazing out at the stunning scenery from the deck. Beautiful. At the house we enjoyed watching the bunnies and the birds. We even were lucky enough to watch closely as a coyote stealthily followed a small deer. In the park we were overwhelmed with all the beautiful nature and wildlife. Elk, deer, pronghorn antelopes, oh… and bison of course! And we were thrilled to see two sibling wolves and a grizzly bear mama w/her cub! Very exciting! Highlights include: - Wildlife viewing with Misty from Flying Pig. She was great and we really enjoyed our day with her! - Old Faithful area and Observation Trail. Short fun hike to a beautiful view of Old Faithful and just further the Solitary Geyser. Very Cool! - White water rafting with Zack from Flying Pig. Our favorite activity!! The kids loved the rapids and swimming in the Yellowstone River. - Hiking by the Boiling River and relaxing in the Hot Springs. AMAZING! Not to be missed! We have had a beautiful vacation and have made lifetime memories. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! A big shout out to your housekeeper and Hubert…. they do a beautiful job presenting your beautiful home. Thank you! Thank you!
We loved everything about this home. It was only about a 15-20 minute drive to Gardiner, which is the north entrance to Yellowstone NP. The home had everything we needed such as firewood, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. Air conditioning was a plus, although we didn't really need/use it. Our favorite part about the house was the back deck. We spent every day exploring the park and every evening watching the sunset right in between the mountains and hanging out on the deck. You literally have the whole valley to yourself...well, except for several bunny rabbits in the yard, and the elk which would come down to the valley to graze. The best time to spot the elk was at sunrise or sunset. The home was very clean, had a great cable selection, and Wi-Fi worked perfectly. We spent 5 nights in the Tetons/Jackson Hole area, then spent 9 nights at this property. We didn't have 4 wheel drive, and it was not needed during our stay because it was in June/July and we didn't get much precipitation; however, during the winter I could see how it would definitely be needed, or if they had prolonged periods of rain during the summer. We liked that the home was far away from everything, yet still close to the entrance of the park. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting the greater Yellowstone area, and hopefully even have the chance to return to this home in the future. Also, Bruce and Magdalena were always an e-mail or phone call away and they responded promptly to any questions. Mary & Eric, Louisiana
I could repeat all the things already written by the families who’ve stayed in your ‘perfect’ home. We’ve rented through VRBO for years all over the country and this home is truly the best one so far! The little things really matter. Like having night lights throughout, flash lights, lots of lighting in the bathroom, tons of towels, a griddle, the fireplace, the deck seating, the grill! I think that Magdalena and Bruce should give workshops to other VRBO owners on how to have the perfect set-up for their guests. And kudos to your housekeeper as the home was spotless when we arrived and to Hubert for taking such good care of the lawn! Thanks for allowing us to use your home to spend a great family vacation together. Lots of memories made! Blessings!
Thank you for sharing your little piece of Montana with us! We enjoyed having such a lovely spot to come back to after a long day of fun activities. The kids loved the bunk beds and making s’mores by the fire pit at night. As others have mentioned, the bunnies in the yard had us laughing! Some highlights of our trip: - Hiking down to the ‘Grand Canyon of Yellowstone’ (Uncle Tom’s trail) - Seeing the bison herd and 2 bears in Lamar Valley - An all-day horseback ride up to Fawn Lake (we went with Hell’s-A-Roaring stables) - A fun raft down the Yellowstone River (we went with Flying Pig) - Seeing the thermal features in Mammoth We feel like we’ve only seen the tip of this amazing park!

My husband, myself, and our adult son spent nine nights in this wonderful cabin from June 17th until the morning of June 26th. Everything we could possibly need or want was supplied in this fantastic cabin. It had the best equipped kitchen of any VRBO that we have ever stayed since we started doing our national park vacations in 2009. I always pack certain kitchen items that are not usually provided and only had to use two baking pans of my own, but most people don't bake as much as we do. It was really nice to have spices and other basics supplied and even better to find condiments in the refrigerator left behind by others for our use too. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. Having a washer and dryer were essential for us with all of the hiking that we do. We must have picked the best month to visit because we did not need either the heat or the air conditioning during our stay. Also, the wildflowers in Yellowstone peak in June. We saw an abundance of wildflowers in every size and color along all the trails we hiked in all areas of the park. We spent eight whole days hiking in Yellowstone. We hiked a total of 56 miles and we drove on every road and side loop in the park. Yellowstone is unique, beautiful, and totally awesome. We hiked some great trails--our favorites were Hellroaring Creek, Mount Washburn, and the Hoodoos. There is so much to see and do at Yellowstone that we never even visited Old Faithful. We tend to avoid the crowded areas, but did enjoy the Mammoth Springs and the Norris Basin. It was amazing to be among the crowds at Artist Point and then hike about 25 yards down a trail and have the place all to ourselves. We saw lots of wildlife including seven bears, bison, big horn sheep, elk, pronghorn deer, marmots, ground squirrels, but one of favorites was the little bunny who lived in the yard by the cabin. We got caught up in both bear and bison jams inside the park. If you really want to see hundreds of bison, just drive through Lamar Valley and while you are there, take a hike around Trout Lake. We got to see the Cutthroat trout spawning in the stream which feeds into the lake. The best part of our day was always coming back to the cabin after our long day of hiking and sightseeing to relax on the deck and watch the sunsets. This was one of our most relaxing and fun vacations ever! If you are looking for a fun vacation, Yellowstone and this cabin are the best!.
So to start my trip we were delayed and we arrived very late and so thankful the owner answered the phone at 2 a.m. I so needed to have the reassurance that I needed finding the property, so I can not thank them enough for that. It is off the grid so to speak...I was not prepared for the drive back to the house. With that, it was what made the property unique and the privacy and views were amazing. And when we went horseback riding we drove similar roads to the ranch and realized that it is what makes this area even more amazing. Gardiner was the perfect town to make your home base for Yellowstone and the amazing restaurants in that town. It made it even better not having to go too far for anything. If there was one thing I would have changed I would have liked the firepit in the yard or a chimney on the deck...we always look forward to nights outside, and the location was not ideal for kids to be at night. My kids enjoyed being there and loved seeing so many animals...We also went kayaking on Yellowstone lake and on our way we got stuck in a Bisen traffic jam...definitely a first for me. It was just an amazing trip and this house made it a truly unique experience. I have already been asked by some of my friends for the info for this house. Can not say enough...
Your home was so much more than what we expected – thanks for a lovely, peaceful vacation stay. We saw a lot of elk around the property and covered almost all the major Yellowstone attractions. An amazing three days! We were lucky to spot a grizzly at a kill and wolves and coyotes. The bison were everywhere! There was a little rabbit under the shed we befriended too. Best regards~
Our family of four (2 junior highers) had a good time at the home the first of the year. Because of the cold weather we weren't able to take advantage of the stunning location as much so I felt the price was high for not being able to enjoy the deck and the grounds. It was a nice distance from Yellowstone and we went cross-country skiing in the park and enjoyed the Boiling River. There is even a pond to skate on not too far from the property (but I'm not sure if the owners allow outsiders on the pond). The home was dated but everything was in working order and the wood walls and ceilings were beautiful. The single downstairs bathroom (while all the rooms being upstairs) wasn't very convenient for middle of the night trips down the steep staircase. My daughter had a rough night sleep on one of the single beds that you could feel the coils through so she switched beds the second night and slept soundly (a sleepy 13 year old girl can be a dangerous thing! LOL). All in all it was a nice stay and we appreciate the owners for their kindness.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The rental rate in winter is very much reduced from the summer rate. Since we allowed you to arrive much earlier than the usual check in time, and arranged for you to depart hours after the usual check out time, at no extra charge to you, we hope that the extra time balanced out the rental rates you found high. Regarding the downstairs bathroom, we make it very clear on our listing that the bathroom is located downstairs (both in the photo caption and in the amenities section) so it is up to prospective guests to really check all features and see if it will suit your needs. Regarding the mattress that wasn't comfortable, we will check on it and replace it if necessary. The pond you mentioned (Cutler Lake) is not our property - it's Forest Service land.
We spent Christmas at the home. We had fun sledding down the road and playing games by the fire at night. Yellowstone was a beautiful, winter, wonderland!! We saw many animals driving and snowshoeing in the park. It was an incredible Christmas vacation.
Amazing! That’s the best word to describe our stay in your beautiful mountain home. We found everything to be perfect. The cabin had everything we could possibly want or need. The hairdryer included in the bathroom was wonderful, since that's a bulky item we didn't have to pack. The kitchen was equipped with every possible item, even a garlic press! The fireplace was thoughtfully set up with kindling ready for a fire when we arrived. The views are too gorgeous to be defined with words. We enjoyed sitting out with coffee to watch the sunrise. After a long day of fishing, hiking and sightseeing it was fabulous to come back and enjoy a fire in the fireplace or sit out on the deck and see the beautiful stars so bright in the night sky. We saw many elk, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, and jackrabbits (whoa) along the road to the cabin. At night we heard coyotes. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. Our vacation will be unforgettable!
My traveling friend and I recently had great loss in our lives. and we both were in much need of some comfort and solitude. This home and location helped us tremendously soothe the pain. I have rented through VRBO.com for many years in many locations. I always enjoy my stay, but seldom want to return to the location. This is not the case of this home. The location is all you could ask for, IF you want solitude, quiet (except for the far off occasional auto that travels down Fwy 89, which was kind of comforting seeing how remote it is) and exceptional views, this home is for you. The home is comfortable, especially for those that are tall. I didn't have any trouble and joking said to my traveling friend that I feel petite standing at the counters. Everything we needed for making our home cooked meals were in the kitchen. The out of town vicinity of this home is still close enough to get to town in about 15 minutes. There was wildlife on the dirt road everyday we came and went from the house. The deck is expansive and comfortable to sit and just while away the hours, again looking at the views. I saw a huge herd of elk meandering up the mountain beside the house early one morning after a night of being serenaded by bugling elk. I highly recommend this rental. Thanks Magdalena for sharing your place under the Yellowstone sky with us city dwellers.
You will not believe the views from the back deck! You will not believe the majesty of this place!! Elk and deer gather in the fields below. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular! - the stars, too!! If you are planning to venture into Yellowstone, enjoy, but don't miss the opportunity to just be still in this fabulous retreat! We came to spend most of our time in the Park, but often found ourselves just sitting back to enjoy our company. We looked for a vacation home that was not too close to other cabins, but not too far from civilization. After months of searching, we found this lovely cabin. The proximity to Gardiner and provisions was convenient. A couple miles from the bridge in Corwin Springs. As suggested by the owner, 4WD is recommended. The home is we appointed with all the ammenities anyone could expect. The grounds are surrounded by a sturdy 5' fence providing security and safety. The space inside is roomy and comfortable. Bruce and Magdalena were easy to reach, considerate of our needs and accommodating. We later learned that they offer homes in several other locations. Happy to say we just recently booked a home in Yosemite for next year... Can't Wait! Be sure to look up their other properties!!!
We had a great stay in this cabin in the hills north of Gardiner. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed. The cabin is set apart from roads and the town so that you are quite likely to see wildlife. We saw a coyote near the fence and found bear tracks not too far away. Keep in mind that in the fall or winter you WILL need a 4WD vehicle to get up the gravel road to the cabin. To solve this hurdle, we got a Subaru Outback from Phasmid rentals in Bozeman—for a better price than we could have gotten it from the standard places (and they met us at the airport). Also, we had no cell phone coverage (but isn't that the point). Do not plan on streaming videos or spending a lot of time on the internet at the cabin because the WiFi is minimal and usage is capped by the owners provider. Don't worry, you won't want to be on the web, because you'll want to be out in Yellowstone or watching wildlife from the very nice deck. The owners are a dream to work with. They made everything simple and easy.
Best vacation ever! House, deck and views are stunning – we enjoyed watching the elk come down from the mountains to the valley each night at dusk. Stars at night are awesome too! If you don’t like the crowds at Yellowstone, check out the trails and forest roads in surrounding Gallatin National Forest. Get maps at ranger station in Gardiner. Views and wildlife equal to Yellowstone and you feel it is ‘yours’ alone to enjoy! Try driving down Tom Miner Road – beautiful! Thanks so much!
Home was as advertised and well kept up. 15 minutes from Yellowstone north entrance. Owners were very forthcoming and easy to reach and work with. Views from the home were nice indeed. Drawbacks from my point of view, were remoteness (essentially the only house on/at the end of, a 4 mile gravel road), lack of a bathroom on the second (bedroom) floor, lack of cell phone reception which I attribute to being on the wrong side of the mountain for Verizon, and a frustratingly slow wifi capability which owner said was the best offered by provider.
Owner Response
This vacation rental is in a beautiful secluded location with magnificent views. This renter says that the home was just as advertised, which is true. This home has 3 bedrooms and one full bathroom with 2 sinks in it (which is downstairs). We have always advertised it that way. We also tell renters about the 4 mile gravel road to the house (graded annually) and advise that renters bring a 4WD vehicle just in case there has been a lot of rain or some snow. It's a stunningly beautiful drive with panoramic views and usually views of herds of elk, deer or big horn sheep not far from the road. After the gravel road the next 6 miles of the drive to Yellowstone Park is along a 2-lane highway at 70 mph until slowing for a small town near the entrance. The 11 mile drive to the park takes about 15 min., as this renter said. The high speed internet connection is via satellite from DishNet (Hughes). It is the fastest, and only, high speed internet available in that location. I'm sure that it's not as fast as many people are used to in cities and suburbs. It's not fast enough for Skpe or streaming video. It's fine for sending /receiving email and surfing the web. Yes, due to the mountains the Verizon signal at the house is weak. A quarter mile from the house, at the top of a hill along the road back toward the park, the signal is strong. We do provide a landline phone at the home for that reason.
My family and I just returned from the Yellowstone Vacation Home. I couldn't have planned this trip any better! The house is in great shape and a perfect place for a family. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and evenings. My kids enjoyed running around the yard looking for critters. The wildlife is abundant! I am very pleased with our decision to stay outside of the park. And the North Entrance was our favorite part of Yellowstone. Super close to Lamar valley where we saw a black wolf and tons of Bison. I highly recommend this home!
Thanks for another wonderful summer filled with memories. We all had another week filled with fun adventures. The highlight was getting to see two bears swim across the river in Yellowstone. Loved the view from the back deck. Watched the baby elk play in the meadow. We will be back.
Upon arrival we found the home to be perfectly clean. We brought several items with us that we felt would not be provided based on previous rental experiences. I feel confident in saying that anything you would NEED for a vacation here would be provided. I was astounded at how thorough and thoughtful these owners are. We arrived to the firepit being prepped and ready with small twigs, the grill was the cleanest/best prepped I have ever seen, and just about every item we brought for the kitchen was not needed because it was already provided. Great job by the owners for anticipating what the renters will need!!! The home itself is an older home that has been remodeled. (I would be interested in knowing some of the history of it!) I was totally surprised to find the bathroom downstairs where it was accessible to all staying. I may not have read correctly, but I thought the bathroom was off the master/queen bedroom. All three bedrooms are on the second floor leaving the living, kitchen, dining, bathroom and laundry room downstairs. Outside...WOW....what a view! We enjoyed meals on the deck, getting up early to watch animals trek across the field for water, walking down to the river, and just enjoying the sunset, the stars and even the rain. I spoke with both owners during our rental process, and both were very pleasant, helpful, and provided any information we needed regarding the rental as well as the attractions around the home. Bruce was especially helpful when a storm went through and there was a power outage. Just before the outage, we realized the AC didn't seem to be working. He guided me to flip a switch that hadn't been flipped with the changing of the season yet...problem solved simply. Do not hesitate to give them a call because they truly want your experience to be enjoyable and stress free. Wonderful time, wonderful vacation, wonderful owners...we WILL rent from them again without hesitation. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!
Magdalena and Bruce, Our stay at your home was very enjoyable! We saw a large variety of wildlife. We loved using our spotting scope early in the mornings off of the back deck to see the elk and deer make their way to the river – while we had our morning coffee. We played Monopoly two nights in a row with the kids and had a toasty fire going. There was an awesome trail ride by horses we did at Chico Hot Springs to see the beautiful countryside! I am impressed with how organized, clean and accommodating the house is. Thank you so much for the experience. We hope to come back for another stay in your lovely home – piece of paradise. Many thanks ~
What an awesome place for a mountain getaway. The cabin has everything you need and the views off the back deck are spectacular. The home is extremely clean and the owners take great care of the property - while there is not much cell service - they provide a phone for any local calls and the Internet service worked well and you can stay in touch if need be that way. The owners were very easy to deal with and were always easy to reach before or during my stay. But my favorite aspect of this cabin is the location - just sits in a beautiful area with views of paradise valley that are awesome - and the drive back to the cabin is scenic as well and easy to spot wildlife - elk, antelope, deer and a herd of big horn sheep all easy to spot going to and from cabin durning my visit. Also just a short drive into Gardiner and the Yellowstone entrance. Fall was a great time to visit and experience the northern part of Yellowstone - all kinds of wildlife spotted in the park of course including wolves and a grizzly bear. Just a perfect place for a Montana getaway - will certainly return.
We loved staying here during our 4 week National Park vacation. The setting is absolutely perfect and the views outstanding. We had several sunny 90 degree days and several cold rainy days. Loved spending our days touring our first National Park. We saw many bison, a trumpet swan, numerous elk and bighorn sheep. While shopping at the Gardiner Market we were closed in by elk in the parking lot - a first for us! Thank you for allowing our "boys" to join us here. They really enjoyed the fenced yard!!
Thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us! It was very well equipped and organized and in an awesome location! On our trips into Yellowstone each day we saw lots of animals! On the last day we saw a moose and a mama bear with 3 cubs! We would definitely recommend your home to others, and maybe can come again ourselves. We are now on our way to Cody, then 2 days at Old Faithful Lodge, finishing at Jackson Hole. The scenery out here is very beautiful; wish we could stay longer!
Thanks for opening your home to us – it’s the perfect get-away place. The location is outstanding! We had everything from 80 degrees to snow and enjoyed it all! We enjoyed a couple of fires outside (in the fire pit) and a couple inside (in the fireplace). We saw hundreds of bison - our best viewing was the road to the northeast entrance and the side road off that road (Lamar). We saw tons of elk, pronghorn and deer. Our absolute favorite dinners were at the Lighthouse Restaurant. Amazing food - local - organic. Thanks for the coolers and everything else you supplied in this well stocked home. Yellowstone is an amazing place - we're off to the Tetons…
We leave Yellowstone humbled once again by God’s creation. The Park is absolutely amazing. We could not wait to go back each day. This trip made our 24th anniversary one we will never forget. I truly enjoyed the fishing in the Park. If you’re a fisherman, trust the Fishing Yellowstone Park book that is on the mantle written by Mr. Parks. The book is worth the read, not to mention it is spot on for the types of fish and the size that each water holds. Great guide book. We saw elk, coyote, eagles, antelope, buffalo, osprey, mule deer. Love this place!
Spent a wonderful week in close proximity to Yellowstone. We went into the Park every day and highlights included the Canyon and all the geothermal features, especially those around the Norris Basin. The house is a fantastic location and we never tired of looking out over the valley. Animal sightings in the Park included a bull elk, bison (obviously), pronghorn, golden eagle and osprey. Think we saw the full range of August weather in a week; snow on the peaks each night to start with and cool, but hot and thundery by the end of the week.
What a wonderful week! We loved this private and peaceful location. We could not get enough of the deck in the mornings! Loved having dinner out there too. Our highlights: - Spending time with the wolf watchers in Lamar Valley – look for the spotting scopes by Soda Butte - Beaver Pond Trail loop by Mammoth - Geyser day: Old Faithful, Norris Geyser Basin and Fountain Paint Pots - Lamar Valley in the morning + evening - Hiking Petrified Tree Trail by Tom Miner campground - Hiking Slough Creek Trail - Roosevelt Lodge – eating lunch (wild game chili) on the rocking chairs on the porch - Soaking in Boiling River – an elk came in to join us! - Seeing all of the animals in the Park – amazing and long days in the Park - Campfires at the fire pit with s’mores! - North Rim Trail and lookouts at Grand Canyon of Yellowstone The house was wonderfully equipped and stocked and the view and location really can’t be beat. We hate to leave. We loved that newspaper, kindling and firewood were all provided - that is a great selling feature I think! We really could have used another week just sitting on the deck! Heaven! Hopefully you will hear from us soon for another vacation. Thank you!
This cabin worked great for our family of 6! We loved being able to cook for ourselves and all of us having a bed! Our highlights: - Teton hike at Jenny Lake - Hiking Specimen Ridge by Tower Falls - Hiking to Natural Bridge by Lake Yellowstone - Swimming at Firehole Canyon Thanks for stocking the house with all we needed! We loved our week here!
This was our second trip to your home and it was as wonderful as the first trip. After a long day in the Park it was so nice to come home and enjoy the quiet and beautiful views. Several nights we could see a herd of elk in the valley and the stars were amazing. We did a one hour horseback ride and dinner with Hell’s A Roaring ( via the Flying Pig) that was excellent. Lunch at the Iron Horse overlooking the river is worth a stop (good food). If you want to see large herds of bison don’t miss Lamar Valley. Spied a copy of the Yellowstone Expedition guide in the cabin which I almost bought in the Park. The guide gives you great detail on the Park and the CD was great to listen to in the car. Also really appreciated the use of the coolers for packing lunch to take to the Park every day. Thanks again for sharing your cabin – it is a great getaway!
Bruce and Magdalena, What a beautiful place you have. Thank you very much! We really enjoyed our stay here at your place while we were at Yellowstone for our daughter’s wedding. The quiet of the country setting was enjoyable and helpful. The wildlife and stars were 'extra' and wonderful! Thank you. God bless ya~ Bruce and Magdalena. You have a great location! What a beautiful view of the valley. My sister was married on Wednesday at the Mammoth Chapel in Yellowstone and we couldn’t have asked for a better home to stay in before and after the ceremony. The caretakers do a great job keeping the place nice and comfortable. Hope to come again soon!
Great remote house for enjoying Yellowstone and continuing that enjoyment of nature around the house at night. The elk herd of 100+ came down to graze, only to be spooked by two cars going by! Haven’t seen them since on the flats, though we did see a number of the herd on a hike up in the hills – can’t do that in Seattle. So much to love about Yellowstone – Trout Lake, Beartooth Hwy, Ranger talks about animals, geology, geothermal activity, Yellowstone Lake and ice cream. Geyser day was possibly the best. Of course we went to Old Faithful. When it finished we followed the geyser walkway and just happened to hit Beehive just as it emptied. Then we saw Castle go off, and before it was finished Grand erupted. Each of these are infrequent and we were lucky to see them all. Probably should have played the lottery that day.
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, We had a wonderful time on our vacation to Yellowstone and thoroughly enjoyed your home. The setting was breathtaking and the house well-appointed and very comfortable for a family. In the park and its vicinity we saw moose, elk, grizzlies, black bears, mule deer, 6 bald eagles (!), big horn sheep, tons of bison, falcons and the list goes on. For anyone interested in a private guide led wildlife safari in the park we would very highly recommend Dan at Yellowstone Safari. He’s super knowledgeable, loves kids and goes the extra mile to take you off the typical trails and into the wilderness. Best 8 hours of our week long trip! Thank you for allowing us to use your house for our own home base. We hope to be back!
Once again an outstanding vacation!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful fully stocked home with us. Love coming home, making a fire and making dinner after long days in the Park. Yellowstone again did not disappoint! Numerous bears, cubs, wolves, elk, etc. Scenery amazing here and at the Park. This is our heaven on earth. We so pray we will be able to return.
Truly a beautiful, peaceful space that we were thrilled to be able to call home for the last week. Had a wonderful time at Yellowstone and just walking and hiking around the house. Also had such a good time at the stables at Chico Hot Springs that we are heading out for another ride today. (Dinner there was amazing as well.) Hope to be back soon!
Had a great trip – your home is super comfy, and the fireplace, amazing! Even though Yellowstone was entirely closed due to Government shutdown, we had a great time; our 5 year old loved the hot springs at Chico and Bozeman, and a trip up Tom Miner proved to provide plenty of wildlife and snowmen! Hope to come back next year.
Bruce and Magdalena, Thanks for letting us use your beautiful home. We loved it. It fit our family perfectly. We also loved being away from it all and having some space to ourselves. The road was a bit challenging at first but we soon mastered it. The kids got to see lots of animals and loved swimming in Boiling River. Thanks again~
Bruce and Magdalena, We were here for the second time and like this place again and again. Everything in this house is done to make staying here comfortable and enjoyable. Yellowstone Park is a real wonder. We saw eruption of so many geysers. We were delighted by beautiful colors of hot springs. We saw bisons, deers, elks and pronghorns. We wish to come here once more just to sit on the deck of this house and enjoy solemnity and tranquility of this place.
Hello Magdalena and Bruce, How happy we are to have found your lovely home online. We’ve had a great stay and have enjoyed having your home as a base. We spent lots of time in the Park and took an all day trip down the Yellowstone in a raft. It’s been great and we hope to be back. Your home is very well appointed and clean, quite comfortable and in a lovely setting. Thank you for sharing!
Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us. Your directions were great – we arrived in the dark and arrived without any problems – although I think we startled the sleeping pronghorn on the way. Your house is a great location and made it so easy to get to Yellowstone. We saw so many animals – bears and cubs, thousands of bison, elk, osprey, and eagles. My husband almost stepped on a rattlesnake! The scenery was absolutely wonderful and we got some great shots of the sunset over the mountains. This was a great place to stay especially with three kids we need to cook for. Everything was very comfortable. Thanks so much!
Third time here and it is just more awesome each time!! Scenery beautiful – wildlife abundant – saw over 30 bear, grizzly and triplets!! Lamar wolf pack on a kill, numerous elk – several bulls, badgers, coyotes, etc. etc. It truly is paradise!! Then to come to your home and see elk off the deck – have a fire and great dinners... Thanks once again for sharing your beautiful home with us - it truly is heaven on earth! Hopefully we will be back - God willing.
Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. We wish we had more time to enjoy the deck and its beautiful sunsets and sunrises. My first morning here I woke up just in time to see a young buck wandering around the outside the fenced yard. Saw some neat birds we don’t see in Illinois. We enjoyed some grilled hamburgers using your grill on the deck. We thought the queen size bed upstairs was very comfy. The quilt is nice too. In the mornings we marveled at the cloud or fog that would appear and disappear so quickly on the mountains. The drive to the house was neat. We took lots of snap shots on our way back from Yellowstone Park. The fog and clouds were awesome with the sun setting and the curves and hills on the road. As we went by a fenced area with water sprinklers we saw about 200 elk (all females) in that fenced area. We thought they were being raised there but the next morning they were all gone. So I guess they were wild. We also saw pronghorn and mule deer. There were buffalo across the highway being raised. We spent most of our wake hours exploring Yellowstone Park. Thanks again and God Bless. P.S. – The fire place was warm and cozy.
Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us. We had a wonderful, relaxing, exciting time. The little extras (games, hair dryer, wood, soap, spices, night lights, baby gates, etc.) were truly appreciated. We caught lots of fish in the river and saw tons of animals in the park. What a great holiday weekend. Thank you again!
May 12-19, 2013 Thank you so much for letting us use your home for our honeymoon. We saw 24 bears (12 were cubs), 3 moose, mountain goat, wolf, 2 coyotes, many different ducks, lots of buffalo, elk, geese, bighorn sheep, mule deer, pronghorn and 2 eagles. Your home is gorgeous. We enjoyed our honeymoon and we will be back! Thank you!
This was our second trip to Yellowstone and we had an awesome time. Your cabin contributed to the great time we had. This was without a doubt the nicest cabin we have stayed in. Beautiful views, clean, well-stocked and everything you could possibly need for a great stay. We saw bears, wolves, elk and moose on our daily trips into Yellowstone, and hiked several trails in the park. One morning while leaving the cabin we had a huge bull elk standing in the middle of the road. Thank you for helping make our trip memorable. We are going to try and make it out Yellowstone every two years and will be looking to book your cabin again in the future. I will also recommend your cabin rental to anyone I know who is planning on visiting Yellowstone.
We had a great time at your vacation home. It was perfect for exploring Yellowstone. You really do think of everything that your guests will need! On three separate occasions, we saw elk, antelope and big horn sheep on the road to your house. We found Yellowstone to be more than we expected. We really enjoyed the spectacular views and all the geothermal activity we witnessed. It was interesting to see wildlife that we don’t have back home. And we had perfect weather for the entire week. Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. We would definitely stay there again.
Bruce and Magdalena, We had a wonderful week! Enjoyed staying in your very nice vacation home. The home is very comfortable, very clean and very well stocked. We saw elk and pronghorns on the way in and out (along the road) to your home. In the Park we saw elk, mule deer, longhorn sheep, pronghorns, marmots, and a big black bear. The bear was seen while on our hike to the top of Mt. Washburn. To our greatest pleasure, we were able to watch wolves in the Lamar Valley for a few hours on three separate mornings. On our last day in the Park, we watched a grizzly bear feeding on a carcass in "Little America." That topped our list of things/animals to see – awesome! Thanks again for sharing your lovely home! Everyone should experience Yellowstone.
Bruce and Magdalena, What a great week we’ve had! Your home is the best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in. Anything you need is at your fingertips. Yellowstone was wonderful to see! The scenery and wildlife abound! A lot of the wildlife was here at the cabin on the way out….pronghorn, elk, white tail bucks and does, snowshoe hare and rabbits, an eagle, osprey. We’ve also enjoyed the ‘no humidity’ weather!! Thank you for sharing your home with us! P.S.: I wrote this before we went out on our last eve – finally – saw two bull moose and a calf – Awesome!!
Dear Bruce and Magdalena! Your vacation house is very beautiful and cozy. It was difficult for us to find this place because we trusted to GPS and did not use directions you provided. It was most impressive to experience a hail storm when we finally arrived. We love this house very much. The house is maintained with great love to itself and to the guests coming here. You’re thinking of everything starting from cooler to guide books for Yellowstone Park. All together this lovely place and Yellowstone Park made our vacation unforgettable.
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, What a trip! From passing elk herds in the pasture each morning to the amazing views from the back deck, our stay here at your cabin has been a memorable one. The plentiful wildlife add to the experience as we saw numerous pronghorn, bison, bighorn sheep and the mule deer, not to mention the elk in Mammoth each day. To top it all off we got the privilege to watch 7 wolves in Lamar Valley for over an hour! Truly a wild experience not to be found elsewhere. We also visited all the main geyser basins, toured Mammoth and hiked numerous trails including the entire South Rim (much better than traveling from parking lot to parking lot). Overall, thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin. It was spotless, one of the cleanest vacation homes we have ever been to. We hope we can return to this beautiful part of the country some day in the future. Thanks again.
We had a great stay at this fabulous house. The standout quality of this home is its isolated location with great views of the Yellowstone River Valley and surrounding mountains. Though isolated, the house is also a great base for a visit to Yellowstone Park and only a short drive from the park’s north entrance. The house is clean and comfortable and the deck is fantastic for lounging and dinning. The kitchen is equiped with everything that you need for making great meals including spices and condiments. All the reviews are true. If our family returns to Yellowstone, we hope we will be able to rent this house again.
Coming home from a long day touring Yellowstone was wonderful. The house is so comfortable and very clean. We BBQ’d every evening and loved sitting on the deck watching the beautiful Montana sky. On our second day of touring we saw a badger, a herd of elk and a herd of pronghorns all before we even got off the gravel road leaving the house. Enjoyed our time here and are sad to go! Thank you for helping make this a great vacation. The Raleighs ~ Awesome! C.B. and M.B.
What else can we say that hasn’t already been said in this online guest book? Yellowstone is a FABULOUS treasure. Wildlife, mountains, waterfalls, rolling hills, cool breeze, geysers…perfection. During our stay we enjoyed Lamar Valley for wildlife, the Upper and Lower Falls and many other great places. Thank you for the use of your wonderful cabin. It was a trip of a lifetime for my family!
Thanks for the use of your vacation home. It was always nice to come back after 10 hours of hiking to have a beer and watch the sunset off the back porch. We saw the local elk and saw almost all the animals in the wild with the exception of two longhorn rams knocking horns on the mountain tops. The climb up Washburn Mountain was a bit taxing reaching the ranger’s station. The Lamar Valley had the highest concentration of wildlife and the Yellowstone Canyon/High and Low Falls were the most picturesque. The Food Farm grocery had adequate supplies for our meals and packed lunches. This is a fantastic location and will recommend this place to anyone thinking of trekking out this way. Thanks for the little extras like the spices above the stove and the overall cleanliness of the place. Sincerely,
Thank you so much! We all had a fantastic week here at your wonderful Yellowstone Vacation Home! Your clean and comfortable home, with its great space and terrific deck overlooking the valley, was perfect for our family. While here we enjoyed Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for the first time. We were in awe! We saw pronghorn, elk, bison, coyotes, a fox, 9 black bears, 3 grizzlies, a bull moose, 4 bald eagles, yellow bellied marmot, ground squirrel, and the most spectacular views. We hated to leave. We had perfect sunny weather all week!
My family of 4 (wife and 2 teens), had a fantastic time staying at your rental property. The vacation home is in a beautiful, secluded location, overlooking a picturesque valley between the mountains. We saw elk every day near the property and had perfect weather during our stay - - highs in the low-mid 80's and lows in the 40's, and sunny every day. We spent most of our time in Yellowstone and saw 12 bear, including a grizzly swimming across a pond, as well as moose, bison, elk, bald eagles, fox, and coyote. The Grand Canyon and Lower/Upper Falls were spectacular and we also enjoyed the geyser area including Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful. We drove down to Jackson and spent the night and went on a float raft trip down the Snake River to view the breathtaking Grand Tetons. This was the best family vacation we have ever had and the vacation home was a very enjoyable part of our experience. Our favorite part was the deck overlooking the valley, where we relaxed at the end of the day and enjoyed the sunset. Thanks again for allowing us to enjoy your home.
June 10-16, 2012 We’ve had an awesome time this week. Your home is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. While we were here we saw a lot of wildlife. We saw a wolf, many buffalo, goats/sheep/billy goats, elk, mule deer, and five moose! We didn’t get to see any bears though. We also loved your recommendation on white water rafting with The Flying Pig and horseback riding with a cowboy dinner! We really loved your beautiful and CLEAN home! 4 of 4 children said it was their very best vacation ever and they are very fortunate children who have seen and been to quite a lot in their 10-16 years. I hope that you are blessed with more visitors in the coming years that I am confident will love your home just as much as we did. Perhaps we'll be back one day down the road... Thank you!
Such a great place to stay. The ride to town got shorter every day and I also enjoyed taking the dirt road all the way to town. Our adventures are too numerous to detail here. We had so much luck in seeing all the animals on our bucket list. Lamar Valley has all you could ask for. We even got on first name basis with John, the park ranger, in late afternoons in Lamar. If you’re having trouble finding moose, go all the way out past Lamar to Pebble Creek and then start looking as you head towards N.E. entrance. Great little souvenir store in town called E.L.K. Inc., also has picture and viewing devices. Hope you all have as good a visit as we have had and the luck we had in viewing animals. God bless ~
Neither our vocabulary nor the pages in this book are enough to describe how much we enjoyed this place. The seven of us felt at home. We were supervised by the well thought out information posted in every place about how to operate it. The view from our bedside windows, the scenic view right outside, the automatic lightings, INTERNET CONNECTION, the books, playing cards, STAR WARS VHS are just the few things on top of our mind that we loved. We leave with just one regret – not staying for more than 3 days.
I am struggling to search for the words to describe the visceral experience of Yellowstone National Park. As three guys from the very built-up environment of Philly and its suburbs, every waking moment of our time at Yellowstone Vacation Home was a moving snapshot of the unfamiliar. We came to Yellowstone without knowing what to expect of its trails, climate, vegetation and wildlife. We discovered that these are all privy to change very quickly. On one side hike to Osprey Falls the temperature varied from 65F to below freezing, from the intense sun to hail. The sheer power of the waterfall at the trail’s end is a must-see for those seeking a thrill like no other. Many thanks to Bruce and Magdalena for meticulously planning the layout of the home. Take advantage of everything it has to offer. My brother, father and I will be back soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Yellowstone. Each day was filled with new adventures. The grizzly bears and black bears were everywhere during our time here and much of the park was closed or restricted due to high level of bear activity. Our favorite animal sightings were in Lamar Valley. We saw bison calves, bighorn sheep, antelopes, coyotes, fox and spent two hours watching a wolf pack hunt bison and their calves - hearing them howl and bark was thrilling. We enjoyed your deck, fireplace and all the little extras that made staying here easy. We have rented homes all over the country and so appreciated trash bags, detergent, toilet paper, etc. Couple of trips for groceries and we were set. We had a great dinner at the Raven - so unexpected. We had cocktails on Rosie's roof bar and a decent dinner in the restaurant. We spent one afternoon horseback riding up in Jardine - beautiful views. Tomorrow we head to the Tetons and Jackson Hole to continue our adventure.
Bruce and Magdalena, We had an unforgettable time on this trip. Saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed the gorgeous views. We are so fortunate to be blessed with such a beautiful state that has so much to offer. This trip will be one that will be always burned into my memory. We were so thankful at the end of each day to have such a splendid retreat to come to and relax by the fire, have a nice warm meal and enjoy a glass of wine with the views. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. God Bless - Kathy and Kevin, Lolo, MT
A great encore visit! Tim and I had a wonderful time, mostly doing some things we didn't get to do last year, like fishing the Madison and Gallatin Rivers. Last year Dunraven Pass was already closed for the season but we caught it the one day it was open during our stay this year. We also got to see Morning Glory Pool and West Yellowstone and the Gibbon River. Oh, and we saw a moose along the Madison River! As before, we had a fantastic vacation and hope to return next year. Thank you for making this little piece of heaven available to folks like us from faraway places. On a mere second visit it felt like home the moment we walked in the front door. We have this incredible fondness for your home when we spot it from Highway 89 or the Old Yellowstone Trail on our way back in the evenings. We know what we don't have to bring, because the house is so well-equipped, so our packing and shopping are simple and comfortable, easy and stress-free. Okay, so we are already talking about the next trip here. Now, on our last night, we are reviewing our photos, listening to music before the fire, writing in our journals, and running out on the deck for a final view. Thanks so much! We "get it" here: so quieting and peaceful.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Nothing like feeling ‘at home’ on vacation. The elk and the view were spectacular. We were lucky enough to witness four wolves and a grizzly posturing over an elk carcass along the Lamar. Hiking into Yellowstone’s back country is a ‘must’ as well as fishing the majors and minors - Slough Creek, Lamar River, Firehole, Gibbon and Yellowstone. A great time was had by all…
We had a wonderful week of exploration and relaxation. The elk herd has returned in spite of the presence of persistent and determined hunters! We have seen pronghorns, deer, bison and a coyote during our visit. With the clearness of the night sky here we were able to see lots of shooting stars, Jupiter and its satellites and the backyard was a wonderful place to set up dad’s telescope to look even further out into the night sky. The house is very comfortable and well supplied with both supplies and information. It’s a wonderful location. If you get into Livingston for a visit, be sure to stop by Chadz, a funky little coffee shop on Main Street, and a fun micro-brewery called Neptune’s Brewery on L Street. All in all a wonderful visit at a wonderful destination! You have a treasure in your home in Gardiner but I am sure you already know that! We hope to return to the area and your vacation home in a few years.
August 27-September 1, 2011 We had a wonderful few days at your Montana retreat. A great time enjoying Yellowstone, with each day capped off by returning to this lovely home with spectacular surroundings. We had planned to dine out once or twice, but we all agreed it was far better to come back to the home and enjoy the best sunset view in the valley! Thanks! ~ PS: The daily "elk parade" (down the mountain in the evening and up the mountain in the morning) was a highlight!
You have a beautiful home. We enjoyed our nights on the deck looking at the stars, relaxing and playing UpWords and cards with our kids and of course going to Yellowstone! We love all the beautiful animal photos, quilts and furnishings in the home. Thank You! Visitors from Chicago ~ We had a lot of fun here and we had fun playing cards. The children ~
You did such a great job stocking everything we needed – right down to rubber bands :-) Marge, Texas ~ We loved the cabin and all the wonderful things to make it home. We enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting and seeing the animals. It was a wonderful vacation! Susan, Texas
July 31-August 6, 2011 ~ We have enjoyed ourselves in your cozy cabin. The view has been incredible! We have watched thunderstorms roll across the rugged mountains. We also saw the stars in the night sky which resembled diamonds in the sky. The home is very clean and comfortable. We would love to stay here again. We saw elk and pronghorn, which was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin, Magdalena!
June 18-21, 2011 Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home! We had a fabulous time in the park and at the house. A fantastic place for my friends and I to have a reunion. I’ll bring my family back and so will my friends. We are from Tennessee and Texas. We spent time at the upper and lower Geyser basins, Hellroaring creek and in the Lamar valley. We saw an unbelievable amount of animals, birds and flowers. Thanks again! Tom Bruce and Magdalena, thank you so much. We truly had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and the setting unreal. Gary
June 11-18, 2011 Thank you so much for once again sharing your beautiful home!! The beauty and serenity is priceless. We were fortunate to have our daughter and future son-in-law join us this time and they cherished every moment as we did. Once again the animal viewing was spectacular!! On our last day we saw 11 bear, including a cub in a tree (not here :-) and 5 of the Lamar Canyon wolves!! Throughout the week we witnessed an elk giving birth and saw an additional 25 bear, moose, not to mention the numerous elk daily from your deck. After such amazing days we loved coming home to a warm fire and home cooked meals. Magdalena and Bruce, you cannot know how much we have enjoyed all this beauty that you so generously share with us. We thank you again and pray we will be able to return. This truly is heaven on earth!!
October 16-23, 2010 As we drove south down the highway along the river my daughter pointed out the car window to the cabin on the hill and remarked what a perfect little place that was, with what must be a lovely view of the valley below. What a surprise to learn that our rental was that same little magical house! What an exciting time we had in Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. Our drive through the Lamar Valley was amazing and Tim's photographs in Yellowstone of geysers and the Lower Falls at night were fantastic. Mairin had a wonderful soak in Boiling River and our evenings and early mornings around the house sipping coffee and enjoying the deck or cozying up by the fireplace to work a jigsaw puzzle, read or review the day's photos were glorious. Thanks so much for all the helpful suggestions and guidance on making the most of our stay. Tim's 60th birthday celebration was a fantastic family event. We really loved this cabin and would hope to return to it and Gardiner some time soon.
September 25-30, 2010 Wow. What serenity! The area was bright and warm, full of animals and gorgeous browns and golds. We couldn't get enough of the view! Our oldest son learned to fish on the Yellowstone River and caught - his sister! (Kate got a fish hook in her lip.) We had great care at Mammoth Clinic! The home was clean and so well stocked! We'll recommend to many others! This was our first trip to Montana/Wyoming and hopefully not the last! Thank you for all the notes around the place. It helped us settle in quite nicely. PS: I got a fish hook stuck in my lip. I saw a bunch of least 7 chipmunks. Kate
September 12-20, 2010 Thank you for such a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Yellowstone. Everything was perfect and the only thing to complain about is the fact we have to leave. The weather was great and we loved sitting on the deck in the evenings. Also, the people in Gardiner were so friendly! Thank you again for such a wonderful vacation spot....We really enjoyed our stay.
August 29-September 4, 2010 A big, big bonus to Yellowstone!!! Our own herd of elk in the backyard - really much nicer than Yellowstone! We felt at home as soon as we stepped in and we thought it was really special staying in your home. Waking up with the morning sun over the fields we found our car with frozen windows. We saw so many beautiful animals. We always said we wanted to "live like God in France" (a Dutch expression), but Montana is even better! We will recommend your home to our friends.
August 21-28, 2010 This is our second time in this home and both times it has been perfect. We actually stayed in the home offered by the Bealls at Henry's Lake earlier this year as well as the West Yellowstone home in previous years. Of the dozen of trips to Montana over the years their homes are by far the best. All the little touches make you feel at home. Fishing was great nearby in the Yellowstone and great in the Lamar. Overall great stay.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us for the past week. It was very nice to be able to return "home" after tooling around Yellowstone all day, dodging bison, and just relax on the deck and enjoy the sunset. It was a wonderful base for exploring the park and we even managed the Beartooth Highway one day. We loved our time here.
July 24-31, 2010 Your home is beautiful, we had a great time on our vacation. The view is awesome. We could live here forever but it is time to go back. Thank you for a GREAT vacation. We will be back. I have let a lot of my friends and relatives know. I have also told them that the pictures on your site do not do justice to the view in person.
July 16-23, 2010 Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful week in Yellowstone and very much appreciated being able to get away from the hubbub of the park every day. Your house is so comfortable and we so appreciated the stocked kitchen and the ice chest and ice blocks were great for picnics in the park. We saw elk grazing in the valley at night and lots of bunnies every day close to the house. We had a ball rafting with the Flying Pig and really enjoyed horseback riding as well. Also, based on your comments we tried out the Boiling River which was great after a long day in the park. Your house is kept amazingly clean and we felt completely at home. Thanks for making our summer in Yellowstone so memorable. Sincerely, Matt, Janice and Family PS: On our raft trip we pointed out the house to our boat - our guide commented 'that is the best house in the valley' - everyone was amazed to find out we were staying there!
Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you so much for a great stay at your home! We all agree this trip was one of the best we have taken. We enjoyed the breathtaking views from the home! We also enjoyed being able to see elk, deer and rabbits from the house every day. The weather we had this week was wonderful! It was really sunny and warm. After a busy day in the park it was nice to come back to the home and be able to relax on the deck and see a beautiful sunset in the valley. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
June 13-18, 2010 What a wonderful week in your beautiful home. It's everything we wanted in a vacation rental. After hiking in Yellowstone we'd come back and hiked around here. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from the porch. It has been amazing seeing the animals and their babies. Our weather has seen its course: 70, sunny, rainy, snowy, 49, windy.... We have loved every minute and are sad leaving this wonderful place - our vacation of a lifetime. Thank you for a fabulous place to call home - for a little while.
May 28-June 4, 2010 We enjoyed the Yellowstone Vacation Home very much. It was a lovely time. The home is comfortable. Everything was in very good order. Nice environment - elk in the yard and occasionally on the road! Great home - away. Thank you, Kieran, Janelle, Jamie, Alan, Dave, Duncan
May 15-22, 2010We enjoyed our week at the cabin very much. It is so clean! Our son (who has terrible allergies) didn't struggle at all here, a true testament to how clean you keep this place. The kids loved the hiking, fishing and exploring around here. We loved the town of Gardiner. The quaint little shops were so much fun for all of us. The easy access to Yellowstone National Park makes this cabin an incredible place to holiday. Thanks so much,
April 3-5, 2010Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We had a very exciting trip, seeing tons of elk. We went to Yellowstone and sat in the hot springs. Those were amazing. The weather was nice and we enjoyed the view from the house. The home was cozy with the fire place and the fully stocked kitchen. It was a perfect Easter weekend with the family. Thanks so much,
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yellowstone Vacation Home. It was nice to have a "home" to return to after a long day at Yellowstone National Park. It takes about 20 minutes to drive down to the entrance of the park, but the added privacy and seclusion of the cabin made the extra effort worthwhile, not to mention the great view! The house was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The Beall’s clearly care about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. You will not be disappointed; we highly recommend this cabin.
July 18-25, 2009We had beautiful weather - even quick thunderstorms were beautiful - bring your rain gear! Our adventures: Exploring all of Yellowstone Park. Lamar Valley is amazing. We saw about 1000 bison… incredible. At Trout Lake we caught two 25+ inch rainbows! Everywhere you go is a new adventure and vision. This is a beautiful part of the country. We were too tired to eat anywhere but here! Be sure to get your groceries early - the store closes at 9 pm. Wow, the wind can blow here! We were Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. One evening chairs were blowing all over - the grill even spun around - pretty exciting for our last evening! Have fun!(First vacation without kids - kind of kidsick but not homesick!!)
May 22-26, 2009 Great weather - 60's and 70's - no wind. Adventures: Lamar valley and Mud Cauldron, the area between Canyon and Fishing Bridge. We ate here at the house, cooked out and enjoyed the scenery. Beautiful weather! A great family vacation! Beautiful cabin, it was very peaceful. We enjoyed the fire in the evenings and star gazing at night.
June 6-13, 2009 We had beautiful weather, cool, mountains snow capped. Our favorite adventures: everything. Enjoying the beauty and serenity here - driving through Lamar Valley and up through Tower Falls. We saw abundant wildlife - 25+ bears, 4 bull elk with huge racks in velvet, 5 bull moose, etc. etc. - many with their cubs and pups, etc. We spent too many hours driving through the Park, but we didn't want to miss anything. Restaurants: Gold Mine - though we ate most meals here by the fire. We absolutely loved the house; the beauty is awesome. We don't want to leave - many elk are down feeding in the AM and at night. We saw a wolf one morning heading up the valley in front of the cabin. What views!! Thank you so much for sharing this place with us.
August 1-8, 2009 The weather was hot and stormy. We had a great time fishing the Lamar River, Bear Creek, Slough Creek, Yellowstone River, and the Gardner River. All the rivers are fantastic, full of trout and the landscapes are absolutely wonderful. We saw black bears, elk, buffalo and a lot of wild animals in the park, most of them during the late evening. During the fantastic day of fishing at the Bear Creek we saw a black bear with two babies. The house where we stayed is fantastic, it has everything you need and the views are fantastic. There is very good fishing just in front the house. Thank you very much.
August 23-29, 2009 We had wonderful weather! The first four days we had fires in the wood burning stove in the morning and evening because it was about 50 degrees. Then it got to the mid 70s the next few days. We stayed here and enjoyed the birds! We loved the solitude and beauty. The stars were incredible!!! We went fishing about a mile down from here, and we had nice walks above the lake. A young buck and doe with their fawn were in the field below the house the first morning - just a family taking a walk. We brought our own food and cooked here. We are so glad you don't have 'scented' things - the air is so fresh here and we are allergic to 'fake air cleaners.' The water was awesome. We had no need for TV or stereo here. We loved the wood burning stove and deck - the firewood was seasoned. Thank you so much, Magdalena & Bruce. Perfect!!! We are coming back for two weeks next summer or fall.
September 5-12, 2009 We had such a nice time. The house worked out so well for us, being so near Yellowstone Park and to Gardiner. It also had plenty of room for 5 adults, with lots of expansion room onto the deck. We've always aimed for low-traffic, secluded, private spots to enjoy the surroundings and this is such a beautiful, private place. It was a very nice transition from camping and it allowed us to include a confirmed non-camper to our group. You thought of everything - there were touches I intend to add to our home! We enjoyed the daytime view and stargazed at night. We had outstanding weather - clear skies, temps ranged from low 50's to mid 80's. We hiked up Tom Miner, we explored Yellowstone Park and revisited Old Faithful after nearly 50 years. We also went fishing and rock hunting. But the best thing - it was such a great place to reconnect and have new adventures with far flung family. We had dinner at the Raven Grill in Gardiner and The Livery in Emigrant, and we cooked great meals at home. Can't think of a better place to spend time with family. It didn't last long enough! We had a wonderful time.
September 13-20, 2009 We had a wonderful time here at your cozy cabin. We saw elk a few mornings in a row cross the pasture. In Yellowstone we saw bison, pronghorn and coyotes. The weather was in the 70's every day!!! We enjoyed a few late evening storms and a few clear nights looking up at the stars. We're still amazed at how clear and bright they were. One night we witnessed two shooting stars - beautiful. We all tried buffalo meat - yummy! We are sad to leave tomorrow, but we know we must. We had a wonderful time and may be coming back. Thank you,
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Please know what a wonderful week we had in your beautiful home. We were able to explore most of Yellowstone's points of interest - hiking, fishing, animal sightings all were spectacular! As an amateur astronomer, Wayne could not get enough of the star viewing right off the rear deck. Awesome! We must compliment you at how smoothly reservations went and how extraordinarily well equipped your home is. It's clean, cozy and comfortable. It was difficult to leave your beautiful area. Thank you for your part in helping us create many precious family memories!
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thanks so much. The weather ranged from balmy 70s to below freezing with snow and rain, then a final glorious sunny day in the 40s. In the pastures nearby we saw bluebirds, elk and mule deer. On the day after the snowfall, the highlights included a hike on the Beaver Ponds Loop Trail filigreed in light snow, with numerous sightings of bugling elk bulls and their cows, followed by a drive to the northeast end of the Lamar Valley where we encountered a chaotic herd of traffic-stopping bison, a golden eagle and lone black wolf. Just as great was returning to your comfortable, quiet, well-equipped home. It truly was a pleasure to stay there, and I hope to do so again in the future. Bruce Beans and Ben Yagoda, Philadelphia area, and Tom Beans, San Bruno, CA
October 9-13, 2009 Thank you for the use of a very nice cabin. The trip was very good despite the cold weather. We got a little fishing in and a lot of great sights including wildlife in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. We will definitely keep the cabin in mind for next year. Thank you again,
October 15-18, 2009 Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed being back at your lovely home! We had a fabulous time. It was fun to explore Yellowstone again, not to mention the spectacular scenery! I think this is a good time of year to visit the park. We saw lots of elk, bison, bighorn sheep, the highlight being the big grizzly we saw on Saturday. My Mom really enjoyed it too, and she loved the house! Thank you for another perfect stay in your beautiful home - it could become our annual vacation. Hope we can get back this time next year again!
December 24-28, 2009 Thank you for a great stay in your lovely home! We had no trouble finding anything and the fully stocked kitchen was quite a treat. Also, we appreciated all the precautions about road safety on our arrival night. We saw several herds of animals on the hill sides which also made our stay memorable! Thanks again for helping to make our holidays so special with our family !!
My family and I throughly enjoyed our accomdations. It was very clean and comfortable. We cooked and enjoyed our meal on the deck of the home. We walked and just enjoyed the beauty of the mountains. Peaceful, quiet and restful. Check this one out, it is a plus. Tish
Owner Response
Having meals on the deck is indeed very rewarding, because you'll look out on Dome Mountain, Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River. Often elk and deer can be seen in the fields below as they come down from the mountains in the mornings and evenings. You might even see an occasional wolf pass by! The property is surrounded by Forest Service lands, so if you are looking for a peaceful getaway, only 11 miles from Yellowstone Park, this is the place for you. Magdalena and Bruce - owners of Yellowstone Vacation Home
February 7 - 14, 2009 Weather: Fabulous! Chilly, 20-30' during the day and teens to single digits at night. But we like cold weather so it was perfect for us. Adventures: Lamar Valley, Lamar Valley, Lamar Valley! As amateur photographers we had the privilege of photographing wolves, big horn sheep, mule deer, pronghorns, coyotes, bald and golden eagles, bison, elk and a white snowshoe rabbit. Got some awesome pictures! Eating: We stayed in every night reviewing and editing pictures. Other: Your home is lovely! We particularly liked the solitude it provided us. We were here every night enjoying the warm fire and all the coziness your home provided. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us.
Owner Response
Some of the pictures that Joe and Carla took are now posted on our own website at yellowstonevacationhomes dot net They took them in the Lamar Valley, and close to Yellowstone Vacation Home. So wildlife photographers, this home is a great place for you!
10/4 - 10/9/08 Weather: Great - up until the snow prediction. Adventures: Hiking all the beautiful trails; seeing the Lamar Valley. Eating huckleberry ice cream at the Old Faithful Lodge and taking the lodge tour. Restaurants: Only one open at this time of year is Yellowstone mine; it's pretty good. Other: Thank you for the candy. We love the cottage - great views - has everything anyone could want. So sad we had to leave two days early due to prediction of heavy snow. Wayne and Judy
December 14 - 28, 2008 Weather was COLD. Adventures: spending the day with a naturalist from Yellowstone Safari watching wildlife. We had the special treat of hearing wolves howling in the morning and then watching them near the Hellroaring Overlook. We also loved watching the coyotes in the Park hunting under the snow. So fun! We enjoyed eating in every night in front of the fireplace. Thank you for the well stocked kitchen! What a magical honeymoon this was! Location of the house was perfect: secluded but not too far from Gardiner. Everything in the house was so comfortable and the surrounding areas are really amazing. It must have been wonderful to live here! We didn't want to leave but we hope to be back before too much time passes. Thank you.
9/27 - 10/4/08 What a beautiful and secluded piece of property. Everything about the house and the surrounding area was just what we where looking for. The house had everything we needed for our vacation in order to cook all our daily meals, daytrips to Yellowstone and relaxing at night after a full day of hiking and sightseeing! We felt at home and it was a sad day on Saturday when we had to depart to fly back home. I still have the image of Paradise Valley from the back deck imbedded in my memory:) This was our first time visiting Montana and Yellowstone and we were just amazed at the beauty, the different layers of land and sky and all of the animals abound. We will never forget our time we spent there and are so thankful we had the opportunity to take this vacation. I'm so glad that we found your web-site online last year when we had just started planning this vacation. I want to thank you again for all you did with helping us plan this amazing vacation. It's awesome that you and Bruce have gone the extra mile to make sure that all of your rental homes have everything a vacationing family will need to make their trip so memorable. It definitely takes a lot of stress out of traveling knowing all you need is provided. Weather: 'Glorious!' Favorite adventure: 'Day 4 - Hell Roaring Creek Trail. Crossed the Yellowstone River by suspension bridge. Hiked through the forest and grass hills until we reached the creek. While admiring the view and looking at a set of large elk antlers on the ground we realized we were 20 feet from a buffalo hidden in the grass. Awesome!' Favorite restaurant: 'No eating out for us, it was all home cooked meals and a bottle of wine under the stars.' Other comments: 'We would like to thank Bruce & Magdalena for providing an excellent homefront with all the amenities and great views a family will need to enjoy their Yellowstone vacation to the fullest. Yellowstone National Park is full of diversity, beauty and amazement. But to fully appreciate all that Yellowstone has to offer you really need to hike some trails.' Mike & Tasha and Mike's Dad Phil, CT
September 20-25, 2008 The weather was cool, fall definitely arrived. Then sunny the last 2 days. Fantastic! Our favorite adventures: being able to fulfill a dream of exploring in person all the adventures in the park. The Old Faithful Inn was spectacular to walk around, then into. (We heard the food in dining room was really worth it.) The road to Jardine was good - a short hike around the point at the lake with the cabin was worth it. Just the drive from Corwin Springs Bridge was alive with coyotes, 4 points and does, and plenty of pronghorns defending their herds. Great restaurants we discovered: K-Bar for a K-Bar special pizza - yummy! Cooking here was excellent. Friends came over and shared bread with us. Perfect. Montana and its people are fantastic to be around. So helpful and willing to be nice to tourists is something special. Thanks to them for being so hospitable. Take your time in the park, use the pullouts and be patient - it will come alive before your eyes. It was wonderful! Thanks, Bruce and Magdalena, for sharing. Clean and nice. Perfect. Hope to be back soon. Sam & Gretchen Farver, Redmond, WA
9/14 - 9/20/08 The weather was perfect; sunny and warm every day. A black bear crossed the road 2.5 miles from the house one night when we came home. We didn't see a bear in the park, so we were thrilled and surprised to see one so close to home. We didn't have much luck fishing in the park. Saw bighorn sheep and mountain goats - had never seen either before. Antler Inn was the only place we ate out at - pretty good food and lots of it. Played in the poker game at Antler Inn and met nice people and had some luck. The cabin was great - very well stocked, comfortable and clean. If we ever come here to vacation again, we'll be back. Karen and Chris Day, Kennewick, WA
This was one of the best vacations ever! The owners of this house really knew how to pick the perfect spot. It was so tranquil and the view overwhelmingly beautiful! This is the way to travel, not a hotel. After every day in the park, it was wonderful to come home to a true home that is beautifully maintained and has everything you could ask for at your fingertips! We saw every type of animal in the park and we had a coyote on our road that we saw twice!, also 4 deer jumping around the outside of the property each night. Everything in the house was like new and the down comforters were a welcome surprise on the cooler nights! Talk about a quiet, great night's sleep! Everyone must have this experience at least once in their life, to have your own private Montana! This trip makes me want to move to Montana! I will be back and would like to try one of the other houses, also! Thanks to the Bealls for a great memory! It's hard coming back to the city after such great beauty out west!
August 2-9, 2008 We had an awesome time for 7 days that allowed us a retreat every day after hiking and sightseeing all day long in Yellowstone Park. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the sun. We also enjoyed many meals out on the deck. Your vacation home makes us want one of our own, and we thank you very much for providing such a comfortable home for us to spend our vacation. Thank you! Chris, Christa, Bridget, and Ben - Ogden, Utah
We just returned from your vacation home, the location was so quiet and peaceful, the views were wonderful. Very nice large vacation and have never stayed at a place that was so well stocked, everything was thought of, we loved it. We had a problem with the a/c when we got there and they sent someone out the same day to fix it, wonderful service. Would come back in a second. Some friendly rabbits and a few friendly snakes. LOVED IT
This was our first trip to Yellowstone. The cabin is really nice and the view from here is awesome. We spent one night at Colter Bay in a quaint cabin in Grand Teton Park. It was very rustic and no comparison to this beautiful cabin. We would definitely recommend going to Grand Teton Park. The mountains there are breathtaking. We spent time at Yellowstone and enjoyed seeing many animals. On Thursday we saw a grizzly bear actually eating an elk. It was an amazing experience. We also went white water rafting with Montana Whitewater. We rafted through the canyon which was a great experience and an incredible adrenaline rush. We enjoyed cooking out on the deck here and catching some sun rays. We would love to come back in a few years. We live in New Jersey and the Pocono mountains are pretty, but the mountains in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons are even more beautiful to see. We had a wonderful week and we are glad that we stayed in your cabin. Chris, Kathy, Jacob and Rachel, New Jersey
This was our second tpip to yellowstone, and our best vacation ever!were so glad we rented this house it was perfect private, clean, had everything we needed and an amazing view.In the park we seen grizzly, blackbear, moose, elk, bighornsheep, allwith babies.we hope to come back every year. Cory,Tammy,Jacob and Sydney
This was the first time my friends and I came to Yellowstone, and what an amazing time we had. The house was great ... between all the amenities at our disposal and the fantastic view from the patio, we couldn't wish for a better place to stay. Such a cozy place to come back to after a day's worth trip to the park! Thank you for your hospitality. We will be back. Ilya and friends from Russia
WOW! This place is incredible. The house was well maintained and plenty spacious for our family. We had a ball exploring the house and the land around it. There are several anilmals at all times of the day to view. We hope to visit again--Montana is just beautiful!
We had a wonderful 5 days in this beautiful location. The house was delightful and a lovely break from hotels etc. The homely touches(DVD s) etc were great for the children, and the deck outside absolutely to die for, even in v v cold weather. If we ever make it to Yellowstone again, this will be the place for us. Thanks !
January 16-22, 2008 What an incredible setting and the house is so comfortable! We had a wonderful stay here during our late season elk hunt, which by the way was very successful. We saw so many wonderful animals and fantastic senery while out and about: elk, bison, deer, big-horn sheep, and a mountain lion with her cub, coyotes, bunnies, golden eagles and bald eagles. The temperatures got down to -15 below, so we were very happy to comeback and snuggle by the warm fireplace. Needless to say it was amazing and a wonderful memory my husband and I will always have together. We can't wait to come back again and bring our children. Thank you for sharing your home! Kathy and Kevin Krebsbach, Lolo, Montana
June 30 - July 7, 2007 This was our 16th trip to Montana, usually staying in vacation homes. I can't remember a home in a more beautiful setting. It was hard to leave the fish in the park. There are some really nice fish right below the house. We fixed all our meals at the home and had everything we needed. That's not the case in many homes. Even though we had some record temperatures, it was still great sitting on the deck. When you compare it to the humidity in Georgia it's heaven. Can't say enough about the place. Hope you'll all enjoy it as much as we have. We also had the pleasure of staying at the Beall's other rental home this summer in West Yellowstone. YVH gives you absolute privacy in a wonderful setting. Deer Meadow Vacation Home is just a few minutes outside of the great town of West yellowstone with access to the west entrance to the park and several world class trout streams within a short drive. The house is beautiful with everything you need for a great vacation. Martin and Karen Laxson, Dahlonega, GA
Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Beall, for allowing us to move our vacation days. We had an amazing week at your vacation home. This is our 2nd time staying here and it will not be our last. We had some great BBQs on the deck. We enjoyed watching bald eagles and ospreys fly in the area. We took lots of pictures of the bunny family that lives around your yard. In Yellowstone we also had a great time. We took pictures of coyotes, wolves, bison, elk, antelopes, a cute little red fox, and today while fishing at South Twin Lake we had a wonderful visit from a black bear. This was a true highlight for the entire family. Hayden Valley was great as usual with al types of animals. Old Faithful went off twice for us which was great. We loved this area of Montana and your home is wonderful. Thanks again for a wonderful week and wonderful memories! The Woods Family, McMinnville, OR
The Yellowstone Vacation Home was a wonderful, peaceful base for a great vacation. This house is well supplied and has comfortable beds and a fantastic deck perfect for spending a peaceful day reading a good book. The fishing was great in the Yellowstone River just below the house. Even our ten year old caught a couple of trout on a dry fly. You will not be disappointed with this home; it will exceed your expectations.
We have done a moderate amount of travel internationally and typically enjoy renting houses for the convenience and privacy. This is a gem. The previous comments about the host providing essentials and beyond are true. Location is excellent for Yellowstone Park visits. Clean, well maintained. Apparantly a renovated farm house - well done! Highly recommended.
This rental offers wonderful privacy, peace and quiet, and a beautiful view of the Yellowstone valley. It was perfect for our winter trip to Yellowstone. This is the type of place that you look forward to returning to.
What a great place to come home to after our days in the park. The views were incredible, and we loved sitting on the deck searching for wildlife. We watched a big bull elk and his harem across the valley nearly every morning, and a sky full of stars each night. Thanks for having such a comfortable and well-stocked home to share - it made for a great Yellowstone vacation. Mike, Mary Ellen, Sarah and Lee
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Your cabin is absolutely charming. We had the best time enjoying the views, the stars, the high desert air and the mountains. Thank you so much for creating such a peaceful place. We have rented many places over the years and never have been blessed with such a well-equipped home. We were impressed and grateful. What a peaceful place to return to after our daily adventures. If your ears are ringing, it's because we are singing our praise to you! Thanks for sharing your sweet slice of Montana with us. Greg, Amanda, Collin, Samantha Shephard, Latham, New York.
The cabin is perfect. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful. We loved sitting on the deck in the morning with our coffee, planning our morning adventures while the boys slept. In the evening, our favorite way to end the day was to sit outside and look at the sky. I never saw so many shooting stars! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place. We love it and plan to come back some day. Lynn The setting is spectacular and the cabin is well equipped. Thank you for sharing your Montana paradise with us. This was a vacation that we'll never forget! Tom Tom, Lynn, Ryan, Christopher, and Brandon
We had a dream vacation in your cozy home. The home had everything we needed and more. Yellowstone was amazing & it was so nice to come home from a long day of exploring the park to relax on the deck. We look forward to vacationing again in your home.
July 9-15, 2006 The house was a perfect retreat after long days sightseeing and driving. We loved relaxing on the deck and watching for wildlife and sunsets. We started the "girls" trip visiting all the major attractions - Old Faithful, West Thumb, Canyon area etc. Enjoyed seeing all the wildlife in the park - elk, bison herd, deer and antelope. Montana was a perfect location for our family traveling from Salt Lake City, UT, Geneva, IL and Bristow, VA to converge for a girls vacation, plus brother Steve! Dede, Beth, Judy, Olivia, Emma and Steve
July 5-9-2006 Wow, what a beautiful location and relaxing home to vacation in! The house is so clean and comfortable and the area is breathtaking for its natural beauty. We visited Yellowstone, which is very closeby, and rafted on the river which runs right by the house. Thanks for providing the perfect vacation setting. Kerry and Pat, Minneapolis
We rented the home for one week and found it very comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. Booking from the UK was easy and Bruce the owner was very helpful and promptin this regard. The location and outlook can only be described as outstanding with magnificent views from the deck.
We were so blessed to be at the Yellowston Vacational Home. It was great and it was our first anniversary, so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and landscape. The Bealle's left very detailed directions and instructions and that was great. We will recommend to anyone this lovely home. Thanks again for sharing.
We have rented homes and suites in some European countries, the U.S. and in Canada on a regular basis. Every time we've gone to Montana we've said we should rent a house there, too. We finally did and we picked the perfect one! The location is perfect. The home is cozy and very well equipped. It was wonderful to go to Yellowstone everyday or a surrounding destination and come "home" to such a great place. The house is set in a beautiful valley and it was very pleasant to sit on the deck and watch both the scenery and the animals. The "meeter/greeter" rabbits were very fun to come home to. It snowed while we were there (October 1st through the 8th of 2005) which only added to the beauty. The mountains were gorgeous. It was a fabulous experience, one that we intend to repeat. We appreciate Magdalena and Bruce sharing their lovely home. Kareen and Marvin Bibby Sacramento, California
Wow! We found this home by searching the internet and took a chance based on others comments. We were so pleased with this home. It had everything imaginable. It was so organized and clean. If you enjoy a beautiful view and getting away from the crowds we highly recommend this home. You will not be dissapointed. There were so many things to do, so many things to see right at the house. We miss it already! The Dahl Family
July 19th through the 23rd. Our group consisted of husband, wife, and 2 adult sons. We flew to Seattle from Cincinnati, and spent 15 days visiting several National Parks. We saved the best for last. As you can imagine, we spent many hours in the car, and really needed to give each other space beyond a regular hotel room at each days end! We have been using vacation rental by owner for several years, and have had only good experiences. This house was not only perfect for us, but the adventure in and out of the canyon, especially at night, provided excitement for us city folks! During one of those night drives, the moon was full, and the light colored bushes along the way reflected an eerie light. A few owls sitting unexpectedly on the road and other wildlife spottings added to the fun. We had certainly left our city life, just as we had intended. As others have noted, this house has it all. I put away the matched towels in the bathroom, and gave everyone their own color. What a selection! That way, everyone was responsible for their own. You won't believe everything that the bathroom has for your use! Sometimes when we rent a house, salt and peper, toilet paper, dish soap, garbage bags, etc. have to be bought early in the trip. Erase that worry with this house! We did so much hiking over those 15 days and saw all of the mentioned wildlife. We have about 400 digital photographs and wonderful memories to go with them. Take hikes, relax in the boiling river, pack the cooler each day with the provided ice blocks. You will want to spend much of your day in the park. Come up with a good plan so that you don't waste time in the car backtracking. We used the Yellowstone and Grand Teton materials from the house to plan our days. We found evenings were great for some of the more crowded areas in the park like the geyser areas. Make sure to be at the house though for a few fabulous sunsets, and for some relaxing on the world's most comfortable chaiselounges. The list in the kitchen will remind you what to do at checkout. I worried that we would just follow the list and lock the keys in the house before we unlocked the gate. We managed not to, but seemed like something that would happen to us! So just a word of caution UNLOCK THE GATE BEFORE LOCKING KEYS IN HOUSE! Have a great trip!
My parents and I stayed at the Yellowstone Vacation Home from 5/1/05-5/7/05 for our first visit to Yellowstone NP. What a wonderful vacation we had! The house was very cozy, and it allowed us to feel like we were "home". It was nice to be able to make our own meals - the griddle was the best, especially for pancakes! The location is perfect - just a few miles from the North Entrance. The views were beautiful and we were sad on our last morning that we would no longer have the view to enjoy everyday. I hope we can return again soon!
This home is an ideal place to get away. Whether you plan to go into Yellowstone or not, the area has a lot to offer. The views from the home are breathtaking. The home itself is very well kept and is very well supplied. The owners are gracious hosts and we felt entirely welcome and at home. My wife and I both look forward to visiting again and again and we can see no better place to stay. It was definitely a pleasure.
Our stay at Yellowstone Vacation Home (June 27 - July 3, 2004) will go down in our family history as one of our favorite vacations. This vacation home is absolutely perfect in every way. It's clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well equiped. We were so amazed that all we needed to bring were our clothes and our food. The kitchen is so well stocked that we didn't even need to worry about spices for cooking or filters for the coffee maker. The nicest part about staying in this home was it's location. It is set in a picturesque valley overlooking the Yellowstone River. Watching the sun set on the deck was one of our favorite events each day. Another plus is the fact that we could leave the crowds of Yellowstone each evening and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Montana countryside. Again, this was the greatest! The Couch Family Frisco, TX
What a Trip, For 9 nights we took advantage of the Yellowstone Vacation Home and had a great time. The cabin is well equipped and kept in great shape. Six of us meet every year in that area and this year we took advantage of the great prices that Bruce gives for off season rates. The view is awesome looking back up into Joe Brown and Slip-n-Slide, and we had over 100 elk feed out into the field and water just below the cabin in addition to the deer we saw every afternoon. We are already making plans for next year and are looking forward to staying at this cabin again next year as well as bringing my family up sometime this fall for a couple of days. The only thing we would suggest equipping the cabin with would be an electric griddle for pancakes/french toat etc. Bruce, thanks for letting us stay and having a great time. The Fella's from the United States Air Force.
Owner Response
Thanks Dave, good suggestion! We thought we had thought of everything! We'll add an electric griddle this month. All the best! Yellowstone Vacation Home
This vacation rental is the best equipped home we have ever rented. We like to cook and relax after our xc ski and it is very well suited for that. It is very well taken care of too.
I fell in love with this neat vacation home with a specuacular view and well thought out accomodation. Bruce has equipped the house perfectly with everything you need. The nearness to the north gate of Yellowstone is the big plus. I recommend this house to all!
Our family of 4 enjoyed our visit to Yellowstone. Your Yellowstone Vacation Home was a big share of that enjoyment. We were very comfortable in this well kept, furnished and clean home that had all the comforts of home. Being able to cook our own meals, make lunches etc. really helped out planning and cost of this vacation. We visited Yellowstone Park almost every day and it was a great relief for me to have a "home" to return to every day, and not have to wory about the next meal or place to sleep, etc. I enjoyed the view from your deck every morning and evening, and being off of the busy highway, or the hustle and bustle of the park made for a much need relaxing vacation.
This is a meticulously cared for property in an absolutely magical setting. We were there for a week and spent everyday in Yellowstone/Tetons but were always glad to arrive back at the "Yellowstone Home" to relax. There is so much to do and see in the area, we could have easily spent more time there. The home is so comfortable and stocked with every imaginable convenience. We will recommend it to friends and hope to return someday ourselves. Thanks Bruce and Magdalena for an unforgetable experience.....The Alexander Family
We found the Yellowstone vacation home to be exceptionally well equipped and very comfortable for our stay. We were not lucky in seeing much wildlife from the house itself, only the persistent magpies, rabbits and a pair of coyotes in the field below, but we saw black bear, bald eagles and much more in the park itself. A great location and very convenient for the National Park - we would love to return and stay there again in the future.
Thanks so much for the use of the Yellowstone Vacation Home. Our family had a great time during our stay there. We enjoyed the park, the river so close to the home, and the surrounding area. You have a beautiful location for the home. We wish we could have stayed an additional week. You did a great job of providing everything we needed in the home during our stay. Thank you very much.
This was one of the best vacation homes we've stayed in. Very comfortable and clean. We loved the seclusion and our kids really enjoyed the family of bunnies living on the property. We also saw Bald Eagles and Osprey fly by the house fairly regularly - a bird watcher's paradise! Yellowstone was fantastic - we saw bison, elk, moose, grizzlies, a black bear, coyote and many other wildlife. We will be back! Thanks.
This beautiful home provided a perfect base for our week-long exploration of Yellowstone. Everything we could have asked for was provided! We saw lots of elk, bison, bear and antelope and caught lots of fish with a guide in a nearby guest ranch lake and in the Yellowstone Lake. This clean, cozy, comfortable home is a great vacation value.
The house is absolutely wonderful. Clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting close to Yellowstone. We spent much of our time on the deck enjoying the view. Extra touches such as a fully equipped kitchen, games, and an ice chest made it feel like home. We cannot wait to go back!
We had a wonderful time at the vacation house! Plenty of room for us and the kids, well stocked, gorgeous views, great sunsets. Saw a bald eagle down by the river! Would love to come back again.
What a wonderful house. Plenty of room for 2 families including 3 kids. The fenced in yard was perfect for games of tag and the deck was a great place to gather in the evening. We esp. liked all the extra touches such as a travel cooler for Yellowstone picnics, child gates (even though we didn't need) and the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen.
