Our family of 5 adults stayed in Lakeview Cabin for a week... and everything about it was perfect! The cabin itself is just enough space to accommodate everyone comfortably and is well stocked; we had everything we needed to make delicious dinners at home after a long day of exploring Yellowstone. All of us agreed - we couldn't have made a better choice. Do not hesitate to book this cabin! A couple of pointers: 1) For grocery shopping, head to West Yellowstone and the market that is on Madison Ave (called "Market Place"); it was definitely superior and the staff is super friendly. 2) Make sure you head into Yellowstone early... and know that if you are leaving the park between 4:30pm-6pm you *will* get stuck in a wildlife traffic jam between Madison jct and West Yellowstone, so plan accordingly. Again, this place is amazing! We hope to return some day. :-)
We love your cabin! I am crazy for mountains and rented it for the setting but the house itself exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable. After long days at Yellowstone, we sat on the deck for coctails and sunsets while we listened to the coyotes sing. When the sun sets it gets pretty chilly but that's alright because I was more than ready for Fall. Thanks for providing such a nice vacation rental.
Our family of 4 loved our choice for "home base" on our first trip out west. The "speed ruts" became a source of humor each morning as a wake up call for our Yellowstone adventure. Yellowstone's beauty and diverse landscape were overwhelming. From Old Faithful to the Lamar Valley, we criss-crossed the Park several times. We even squeezed a day trip to the splendor of the Grand Tetons. Our quest to see as much wildlife as possible was almost 100% complete. On our last day we tried to view a bear, but even with getting out before 5 am we were unsuccessful. We did see bison (go to Lamar Valley), moose, elk, pronghorn, coyote. The coyotes/wolf talked to each other while sitting on the cabin's porch. A wonderful trip, that allowed our family to strengthen our relationships. Enjoy your stay! Get up early and beat the crowds - worth it.
This cabin was the perfect home away from home for two small families. The views were gorgeous and the location was great for exploring the Island Park area. The cabin provided all of the accommodations you would want and we were very appreciative of the A/C as our last day was very hot and smoky. We would definitely stay again!
Overall very good. Speed ruts are a bit much. Hopefully there is a better long term solution.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the house and its beautiful location! I provide a sheet of TV instructions for both the living room TV and the bedroom TV, so people will know what inputs to use, how to switch back and forth between watching a DVD and watching satellite TV, etc. Please feel free to call me any time you are having difficulty following the instructions. I'm glad to help. This year the homeowner association decided to create some speed ruts in the gravel roads of the community. These help to get people to slow down. They are a similar idea to a speed bump, but are instead 4 inch depressions every so often. (This home is a few hundred yards from the paved highway. I think there are 3 or 4 speed ruts before you arrive at this house.) I'm sure it's effective for keeping speeds down, but I also think they are a bother and will vote against the ruts next time I get a chance. Traffic in the neighborhood is very sparse anyway, like one vehicle every 10 minutes. So I see no need for the speed ruts and have not noticed people speeding in the past.
My husband and I took our kids to Yellowstone for the first time. While we have stayed at many VRBO cabins/cottages in the past, this experience by far was the worst we have had! On our last night, we were tidying up the cabin. One of our kids was vacuuming in the living room and got too close to a blanket. The blanket got caught in the vacuum. The belt on the vacuum got stretched and we needed to replace it. I called the owners to see if they had a spare and the owner, Bruce, said to me "well, I guess you learned your lesson." I explained that our kids were not fooling around, they were simply doing the same cleaning that they are expected to do at home. He then told me that he would charge me to "have a brand new vacuum shipped in." I explained it was just a belt and charging us for a vacuum was a bit extreme. He didn't seem to listen. So, my husband went to town early on our check out day and bought TWO belts, one to fix it and one to leave as a spare in case this accident would happen to other guests in the future. Total cost... $3.99 for two belts...not the cost of whatever they were going to charge us for a cheap Hoover vacuum. When I called the owner back to let them know the vacuum was fixed, did he apologize for being so condescending when asking me if I had learned my lesson ???....No he did not. I explained that we paid a lot of money to stay there, and for him to talk down to me like that was inappropriate, when all we were trying to do was be respectful of their space. So, if you stay here, be ready for a long list of things to do upon checkout, like washing your bedding and towels. Be ready for ground squirrels everywhere, that poop on the sidewalks, deck, and are in the garage climbing on whatever supplies you keep in there. Be ready to stay in a residential community, not in a secluded mountain area. Be ready for the owners to talk down to you should ANYTHING go not as planned. Did I learn my lesson, YES!!! I will never be staying at any of their Yellowstone or Yosemite rentals ever again!
Lakeview Cabin is a very nice house in a beautiful location and has many wonderful reviews. This woman however, has decided to be punitive with her review. Here are the facts about the vacuum cleaner incident that upset her: She called me the night before their departure. (I live in California 1,000 miles away. This home is cared for by our Island Park cleaner and groundskeeper.) She said that one of her kids was using our (brand new 30-day old) vacuum cleaner and got a blanket stuck in it, causing it to jam and smoke and smell. She said her husband had unplugged it, dismantled it, checked the belt (which didn't seem to him to be the problem) and then put it back together. She said it still made a loud thumping noise when turned back on and didn't work well. I suggested that he take it apart again and put it back together more carefully because maybe the roller wasn't aligned correctly now, since she'd said the problem didn't seem to be the belt. I also said that since this vacuum cleaner was brand new and I could not come over myself to diagnose/fix the problem (1,000 miles away), and there were no repair shops within 50 miles, if they were not able to repair it so that it worked correctly I might have to buy a new one and have it sent to my cleaner and they could just keep the one they had damaged. I need a working vacuum. When he took it apart again and looked more closely they decided the belt was the problem. The next morning he bought a belt (comes in a package of 2) and when he installed it the vacuum worked OK again. So, however happy they may have been prior to this incident, their last evening and morning were stressful for them due to this issue. When I suggested that maybe it hadn't been wise to let her child use an unfamiliar vacuum cleaner in an unfamiliar home she became very angry with me (even though this child's damage to the vacuum cleaner had led to their entire unpleasant episode). Apparently her anger never abated and is in full display in this review. Here are some responses to her list of negatives: There is not a long list of things to do upon checkout. It's actually a short list, if people have time: loading the dishwasher and starting it, putting the trash in the bins in the garage, starting one load of laundry if possible. Nowhere do we ask anyone to vacuum any carpets. If there are ever any ground squirrels in the garage it is because you are leaving the overhead door open. There are no squirrels in the garage when I am there.
Our family of 5 enjoyed the cabin—it was very home like feeling with extra beauty of the green majestic mountain and lake views. Yellowstone was not that far away and tourist shopping before entering the west entrance. Great restaurants as well.
We had such a wonderful time staying in this cute house with the most beautiful scenery all around. Only a 20 minutes drive to the Yellowstone west gate, we ventured to the park during the day with our picnic lunches and either dined in town for dinner or went back to the house and made dinner (full kitchen and grill). Ended a couple of our days at the small fire pit on the side yard making s’mores and heard wolves and coyotes in the distant mountains. Spectacular! Just doesn’t get any better than this!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our Lakeview Cabin! We appreciate your kind words. October is a good time to visit because it's not that busy in Yellowstone Park and it's great hiking weather. You are welcome back any time!
We have stayed here several times and will continue to come back. Beautifully furnished cabin with an outstanding view of the Henry's Lake basin. Convenient to all the outdoor attractions in the area, Yellowstone, Hebgen Lake and Henry's Lake. Had a wonderful time here.
A wonderful time was had by all! My husband and I brought my parents here for a fun getaway and this cabin and its surroundings did not disappoint. Spent two full days in Yellowstone and took a day trip to Jackson Hole. On our "down" days, we watched movies, read books and took advantage of puzzles supplied in the cabinet. We had quite a bit of snow, but it actually enhanced the landscape. At times we would look out over the beautiful view, while drinking coffee, and it felt like we were inside a magical snow globe. This place truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was clean, well stocked and the cabin is the perfect distance from a variety of scenic destinations. Thank you much!
Stayed 11 days, so much to see and do. When we first got there it was a bit smoggy from the wildfires. It took a few days to clear out and then we were able to see just how beautiful it is here. We spent most of our time in Yellowstone and the Teton area. Hiked a lot and saw some amazing views. Pretty impressive place to be!! The house was close enough but far enough to get away from the crowds. We enjoyed star gazing and the views from the deck while eating dinner. Having a grill was very helpful. We never got to use the fire pit bc of the nearby wildfires but we had plenty to do anyway. Would love to visit again
Thank you so much for your nice review. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the views from the deck are spectacular and we are glad the smog cleared up soon after your arrival. You are welcome back any time!
Wonderful cabin, in a beautiful setting. This house is stocked with everything you need, and extra of everything you need. We saw the milky way every night, lots of shooting stars, and drove down to Driggs, ID for the eclipse. Might be the best place I ever rented! Will look into your house in Mariposa for next summer. Thanks for everything!!!
We enjoyed the time here and the fishing decor was absolutely over the top. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and views plus using the home as a launching pad for seeing Yellowstone up close and personal. The cabin is so comfortable, our week here felt like home. Thank you for accommodating our special request!
We stayed in this cabin for 8 nights in July 2017. Magdelana and Bruce were very prompt in corresponding. The check directions, maps and other requested information was provided in details. The cabin is excellent! It has great views of Henry's Lake and mountains beyond. It is very well appointed with fire pit, nice grill, ample space for a family or two, bunk beds for kids, great amount of books on Yellowstone and Grand Tetons and surrounding areas and a nice full pantry. The cabin has a nice sized TV (that we did not use) and VCR with some movies. The spice rack was impressive - one could found all kinds of spices for cooking and grilling. Kitchen was well equipped, with nice views of the lake. It was very clean and well lit. If we are back in West Yellowstone, we would want to stay here!
Thank you for your positive review. I would like to correct a few inaccuracies, for the sake of prospective renters: This home is only 20-25 minutes from the west entrance of Yellowstone Park. (19 miles, with an average speed limit of 65 mph) However, on a busy summer day you may wait in a line once you get to the park entrance station, though there are several entrance booths. (I recommend driving to the park in the early morning during the busy summer months.) This home has 2 TVs and 2 DVD players (not a VCR, as stated). It also has a collection of DVDs for your use. Both TVs also have Dish Network satellite TV.
...a great place to explore YNP and the Thargee National Forest. The cabin provided everything we needed for a longer stay, even bear spray (we left another one). If you stay there, take some time to explore Harriman State Park, the upper and lower Mesa Falls, Big Springs and Quake Lake as well, especially when the number of visitors in YNP peaks around the weekends. We had a power outage related to a thunderstorm and a water outage due to a neighbor doing some constructions on his cabin, but all was manageable (hot water for the baby can be done using a grill ;) ). I am pretty sure my parents enjoyed the stay as well and would come back to this nice place.
For prospective renters: Power outages and water outages are rare at this home. Please feel free to call us if you have any problems whatsoever and we assist you.
We really enjoyed staying at this cabin! Our visit was too brief because it exceeded our expectations. The views are outstanding and stunning. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and organized and suited our needs perfectly, which was a quiet getaway from visiting Yellowstone (about 20 minutes from West park entrance, with exceptional scenery for the way in and out). The owners are prompt and helpful. A memorable experience.
Well stocked cabin in a great location to West Yellowstone entrance, about 20 minutes away. Fantastic deck that overlooks the lake. We enjoyed having most of the spices to make our meals. Since we visited in mid October, the weather was cold and the heaters worked great. Didn't get to use the fire pit, but it was nice and big. The fish décor throughout the cabin was incredible! We look forward to our next visit.
This cabin is aptly named with a gorgeous view of the entire Henry's Lake basin. The interior of the cabin is beautiful and well maintained, with high ceilings and breathtaking views everywhere you look. The views from the deck are fantastic. Four of us fly fisherman stayed here in early October and the accessibility to Henry's Lake, Hebgen Lake and the Yellowstone area are all just minutes away. Bruce and Magdalena are efficient and gracious hosts, and the entire experience here far exceeded our expectations. We plan to make a stay here at Lakeview Cabin a semi-annual event long into the future.
Thanks so much for our lovely stay in Idaho! The cabin was the perfect respite after a day of hiking in Yellowstone. The cabin was exceptionally equipped with all the necessities. We really appreciated the spices, well stocked kitchen, bear spray, comfy deck furniture, and CD’s. Our favorite part of our day was enjoying morning coffee and evening happy hour on the deck - so relaxing! We ate most meals at the cabin, but did venture out one night to Boondocks in Island Park - cute little spot! Recommend but make sure they are open. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay! PS: we saw a lot of wildlife, unfortunately, not the illusive moose: 1) 1 grizzly 2) 2 bald eagles 3) a wolf 4) 2 jackrabbits 5) lots of elk 6) lots of bison
We stayed here 4 nights mid summer. The cabin was clean and we'll stocked. The yard was perfect for kids to play. Good location for driving into Yellowstone Park or West Yellowstone. Unfortunately the fishing in Henry's Lake was horrible and has been the past 2 years, according to a local. However the view was stunning. The cabin was comfortable and very quiet. If I ever come back to the area we would stay here again. It was a heat wave for the area but it cooled down nicely at night. We feel blessed to have been able to stay here!
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin! The views were amazing! Yellowstone was AWESOME! We saw a grizzly bear (from the car) and we named it Yogi. Also, we saw two black bears, a fox, a coyote, a mountain goat, lots of elk, and a bald eagle! It was truly spectacular and it was very nice to have a cozy cabin to come back to. THANK YOU! PS: The ground squirrels were SO CUTE. The bunnies you have are HUGE! (12 year old daughter) Thank you for such a well managed property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Vicki B.
This was a great cabin in a great location. One of the best parts about it were how accommodating the owners were. We were able to extend our stay last minute with no hassle what so ever. They also shipped clothes that we had left behind back home for us. Overall, very clean, functional and everything worked well. What more can you ask for. Thanks!
A group of 6 from Mississippi, North Carolina, and Michigan spent a wonderful week here chasing the wily trout. Cold frozen fingers, snow, and sleet. Freezing temperatures. Lots of fish, and good fellowship. This cabin/home is wonderful. We enjoyed it very much, and the Bealls were a pleasure to work with. Hope to come again. Cheers!
Our stay was great! Very nice and everything was as advertised. All the beds were comfortable. Furniture was very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The market in West Yellowstone was very nice. The travel into Yellowstone was an easy drive and not far at all.
We had an amazing time in this beautiful part of the country. We loved that the cabin was “stocked” with paper towels, TP, laundry detergent, etc. All we had to do is pick up food and settle in. The views are great and weather couldn’t be better. Yellowstone National Park was wonderful! The walk to Fairy Falls is worth it. Great food at Trout Hunter! The fire pit was wonderful as well. (Check the website prior to starting to check the fire hazard for Targhee). Our favorite, besides the singing cows, is the snowshoe rabbit (we call the white toed rabbit). He loves the yard and the flowers. Thank you for sharing your home. Sincerely~
What an amazing place to call home while on vacation. You had EVERYTHING we needed. We have stayed a lot of places over the years but this was by far the best! So nice, well stocked and so clean. (Whoever decorated did a great job!) Thank you for a very memorable vacation!
We had a wonderful 2 1/2 week visit. Enjoyed Lakeview Cabin and the beautiful views. We saw lots of animals in the park including a grizzly bear and black bear. The location of the Lakeview cabin was perfect. You can head in any direction and have a wonderful day. But the best for me was a 15 minute drive to fly fish on the Madison where we caught trout. On Monday evening July 27 - cold rain changed to snow and accumulated on the mountain peaks. What a surprise!!! We truly had a wonderful stay. Hope to some day return. Once again thank you.
We can't say enough about the beautiful cabin and it's location! We stayed for a week with my son, his wife and 3 young granddaughters. We spent much of our time in Yellowstone Park but what a pleasure every day after hiking, sightseeing and fighting traffic to return to this beautiful, quiet, well maintained and well stocked cabin. Air conditioned, a bunk room for the girls, wi-fi, TV, well stocked kitchen with many of the little things you need to prepare meals. And it was only a 14 mile drive to the West Yellowstone entrance! Also get to the Boondocks restaurant if you can. And I must not forget the great view especially early morns and evenings over Henry's lake.
What a terrific cabin in a great location. The view across the Henry’s Lake is beyond compare. We fished with two Trout Hunter guides who we’ve fished with for the past few years: Phil and Travis. They are the best - so enthusiastic and great teachers. Best luck was on the Madison with rushing water and lots of rainbows and browns! The water was warm for this time of year but they managed to keep us busy and happy. The last night we went to the West Yellowstone rodeo - so much fun and such a happy family thing to do - very close to the cabin. Favorite things about this house: - hearing the moo’s of the cattle upon the hills behind us - so clean and neat and easy to manage - cozy and comfy - everything we could possibly need Thank you for letting us stay here. PS: We went to West Yellowstone to go to the market to stock up only to discover you had ALL the extras like paper towels, soap, spices, etc. Thank you!

Great little cabin for our family of 5. We came here to spend Thanksgiving together. We arrived in a snowstorm and roads in to Yellowstone were closed so we pretty much just cozied up in the cabin. Had a great time watching movies, playing games, and cooking and eating. We did venture over to the town of West Yellowstone one day and visited the Wolf and Bear Sanctuary there which was a lot of fun and a very easy drive. We were disappointed that there wasn't a fireplace, we just assumed there would be one. But looking at all the surrounding cabins and finding that none of them have fireplaces, it must be a regulation in this area. Not a huge deal, but just be aware. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We had a few hiccups during our stay but the owners were very responsive to our phone calls and very helpful. We would stay here again.
We are really glad you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back any time! Just to clarify for prospective renters: there is no fireplace on any of the photos for this listing and we do not advertise that this cabin has a fireplace. So it's good to check for your "must have" amenities before booking.
Loved the cabin! It is just like the pictures show. No surprises. The location was a beautiful 20 minute drive from the West Yellowstone entrance. We looked forward each day after venturing into the Park to coming home to the Lakeside cabin. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Another couple joined us for the 5 day stay at the cabin. We fixed breakfast and dinner each day using the well stocked kitchen. The only appliance the kitchen lacked was a mixer. They even had a good supply of spices in the kitchen. The laundry room was a bonus , too. We used the wifi feature each night to stay in touch with business and family back home. The owners were polite and helpful when I called to ask about checking in and getting the keys. We were there mid-September and the autumn colors had already begun to pop on the hills all around us. We relaxed each evening on the deck watching the sunset and enjoyed morning coffee watching the lake area wake up. We recommend this as a good family cabin or as a place for a friendship reunion of two couples/families.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Lakeview Cabin! You are right. the deck is a great place to enjoy the views of Henry's Lake and the mountains of the Continental Divide during any time of the day or evening. We actually thought there was a mixer at the cabin already and we are glad you let us know that there isn't one. We are going to Lakeview Cabin next week and will make sure to bring one. We usually send access information to our guests after receipt of their final payment, but are happy to answer any additional questions about the cabin or the area. We appreciate your recommendation of our cabin as a good vacation home for families or friends. All are welcome!
Thank you for a wonderful and cozy cabin, it was fun. We stayed for a week and went into Yellowstone National Park every day. It's beautiful and peaceful here. The beauty and splendor of Yellowstone is hard to explain, simply breathtaking. About every day we saw a buffalo. I loved the bunk beds, and rocking chairs in the living room. Great views every morning from window. I saw a fat chipmunk! Lol...this place is cool and nice. Enjoyed it all! Hope to come back soon, place is amazing. Thanks! P.S. No bears, I was disappointed in that.
We were here during the government shutdown so weren't able to see Yellowstone! Still we had a wonderful time at Harriman State Park, Henry's Lake and in West Yellowstone. My kids were able to hide food for the grizzlies (in the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone)! We enjoyed roasting Marshmallow and hot dogs over the fire pit, playing hide n' seek in the scrubs, playing games in the cabin … and my kids loved the bunk beds! Thank you for a well stocked cabin, warm beds, a high chair and a wonderful get away! We will be back some time when the park is open!
We enjoyed your cozy home and beautiful mountain lake scenery. The sunrise over the Grand Tetons was a special way to start each day. Fishing was good on the Henry's Fork at Stone Bridge Landing and just east of Hwy 20 bridge was where we caught lots of rainbows...almost keepers! We were fortunate to have a beautiful re-opening of Yellowstone with sunshine and no crowds, except a buffalo traffic jam going into the Park...quite an experience! The cabin is comfortable and well equipped for relaxing and cooking good meals. We were surprised by a snowfall the day we arrived. The area is beautiful, with lots more to explore on another visit.
Great week in the mountains with our friends, 3 couples in all. Thank you for a beautiful, comfortable home. We felt very welcome and relaxed. Super amazing views, we enjoyed coffee as well as breakfast and dinner out on the deck. We watched the sunsets, and clouds at night, including lightning in the distance. We slept with our window open so we could hear the coyotes. My favorite was the thunder storm at night. We have stayed in rentals before, but this one felt more like "home" because of the little extra's provided by the owners. The kitchen is stocked with all kinds of goodies - Thank you! I liked how the owners communicated all the details of checking in, and checking out - - made the process so easy! It was extremely peaceful and private. A reasonable 20 min. drive to Yellowstone entrance. It was the PERFECT location for a carefree, relaxing week spent with special friends. In fact, we spent one day (out of five) at the cabin .. woke up late.. cooked a big brunch and lazed around taking in the views and enjoying our gorgeous surroundings :) Have already recommended your places to two friends. Thanks for an amazing week.
August 17-24, 2013 We ALL had an amazing time here. Everything was perfect - just like the last time we were here in 2010. The house has everything you could need and is comfortable and clean. My kids loved the bunk beds and my husband and I enjoyed the king size bed. It is close to West Yellowstone, which made a wonderful base for seeing the park. This time we also went to Harriman State Park and rode horses, and saw the falls, what a beautiful place! We are looking forward to booking another amazing stay in the future. Thanks again for everything!!! D.H. and Family, Silverdale, WA
Thank you for your kind words! You are right, Island Park has a lot to offer too and I am glad you took advantage of visiting Harriman State Park for horseback riding. You can also hike or fish there. And the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls are also very much worth it! We hope you will come back a third time! Thanks so much, Magdalena and Bruce
We have really enjoyed the cabin, it has been a fantastic place for our time in Yellowstone and also exploring Island Park and the Hebgen Lake area. We spent a full 3 days in Yellowstone National Park doing all the sights - Norris, Canyon, Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs. We enjoyed getting away from the crowds with a good 6 mile hike every afternoon. The Shoshone Lake, from the trail head, exquisite. Also hike to Mt. Washburn, quiet stream, but fabulous views from the top ...10,400'. Away from the park we had a great day in Island Park, floating the Snake River at Mack's Inn for $35.00/canoe. They transport you to Big Springs, and then you float back to Mack's Inn. We saw two moose and other wildlife. The Harriman State Park ... EXCELLENT! Stunning views and another great 6 mile hike. The Golden Lake Ridge and Silver Lake, highly recommended. After that Mesa Falls Scenic Drive, topped off with a lovely dinner at Henry's Fork Lodge, just down from Osborne Bridge. Really top notch dining! Another good day at Hebgen Lake, hiked to the top of the mountain: 8,500'. DO GO to the rodeo on Hwy 20 heading into West Yellowstone, across the road from Diamond P Ranch, great fun, very entertaining and good for families! All in all a great holiday! Thanks, Magdalena and Bruce.
The cabin has been beyond our expectations! The view and inside of the cabin was so beautiful. I recommend trying huckleberry honey ice cream! We went to Yellowstone Horses for horse back riding and it was fun for the whole family. Also we went rafting at Mack's Inn and it was spectacular! We even saw a moose by the riverside. The week also included going to Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, WY, and Yellowstone National Park. We also visited Mesa Falls, and took a guided fishing trip on Henry's Lake, which we both enjoyed. Last but not least BEAR WORLD. It was so wonderful. We even got to feed the bears. Don't forget to visit Johnny Sack's cabin. This cabin was built by a 4'11" man. Hope you have as much fun as we did! Love ~
The cabin has been amazing and perfect for morning coffees and evenings of cards with the boys. We came to mark another item off my husband's bucket list. I was not excited as he was, but now I am talking about the next time we come! Dreading the return to flat, Virginia. Yellowstone is awesome, many trails for all ages and levels. The wildlife was out of this world. We also saw the Tetons which are breathtaking - and the variety of birds … wonderful! Looking forward to coming back and THANK YOU for such a perfect cabin!
This cabin exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed our time at the cabin as much as our time in the Park. This was our children's first Yellowstone trip and we saw bears and all the other typical animals. We will definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and family as a great place to stay near the Park. Very serene and beautiful. ~ This is the most well kept cabin we have ever seen! The views are outstanding, and the location is magnificent. Thank you sooooo much for letting us know your cabin. It was a wonderful place to call "home." At night so comfortable, us kids, Matthew and I almost wanted to go to bed early. The decorating is wonderful. Our family curled up on the couch at night playing card games and chatting about how warm it was. There are so many shopping places here and wonderful gift shops. One thing I would recommend for people who stay here is to go try Huckleberry ice cream. It is the most delicious berry ice cream I've ever had! The Huckleberry licorice is amazing too. Thank you for everything you provided for us at our stay. When I grow up, I will definitely brings my kids here! Thank you ~ Love, Megan, (age 11) ~ Thank YOU for providing this COZY cabin. Matthew (age 8)
We planned our family vacation for five months. We weren't disappointed about anything! Thanks for a well stocked "home" for our stay - coffee and hot tea on the deck was wonderful! From bison, elk, marmots and bald eagles in Yellowstone to moose, prong-horn deer and a great view at Grand Teton...fabulous! We saw a grizzly bear our second day in Yellowstone, from high 80's to a snow ball fight on the same day...we were not expecting so much variety! T.S. and Family, California & West Virginia
What a great place to call "home" for the week! From a well stocked kitchen (thanks for the blue ice!), to Kleenex in the bedrooms, you had it all. We thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and looked forward to returning after our busy days to Yellowstone for an evening cocktail on the same lovely deck. Yellowstone captured our hearts. We had a wonderful day in the Old Faithful area with a special teat at Great Fountain Geyser. We had a great hike in Mammoth Hot Springs where we met a bull elk on the trail. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was breathtaking. We enjoyed rides through Lamar Valley, Hayden Valley, and Pelican Valley where we were treated to a grizzly bear siting. Exploring the Norris Geyser Basin, hiking to Trout Lake and Slough Creek were all a bonus. This is truly a glorious part of the country. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful place to come and recover after each day's exploration. We truly enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for a week and loved it - fabulous house and so much to do in the area. Yellowstone, Mesa Falls, Harriman State Park were all awesome. Sitting on the deck taking in the views was one of our favorite things - sad to leave. Thanks so much for a wonderful place to stay. It was even better than it looked in the photos. We rented another place near Glacier Park prior to heading to Island Park, and it was fine, but one of those places that looked better in the photos then when you actually see it. Thanks again!!!
We stayed here for a week. It was great. The views were amazing. The house is really nice. Yellowstone was beautiful. Thank you! ~ We really enjoyed our stay last week at Lakeview Cabin. Bison, wolves, trout, birds of prey, elk, deer, coyote calls, amazing views…. truly God's country! Island Park is such a beautiful place and you thought of everything with the cabin. The house was a perfect base camp for Yellowstone and I haven’t slept so well in years. One of our days was the "Idaho" day - loved Mesa Falls, saw moose and swan and tons of osprey, visited The Ranch at Harriman State Park and loved all of it! We will definitely be back to fish the Henry’s Fork and Madison. Looking forward to our next visit! Thanks again.
We stayed at this cabin to hike Yellowstone for the week. The cabin was a perfect base for our day hikes. We had all the comforts needed. The location allowed quick access into the park, so we could hike instead of drive. Our son saw a moose outside his window the first morning! Thanks for a wonderful cabin location for our vacation!
The listing description was accurate. The photos were great. The property was clean and well-maintained except for cobwebs decorating the heat vents and return air. The outdoor grill was second rate and the auto start didn't work. We stayed for a week. There were so many activities and attractions including horseback riding, float trips, swiming and canoeing at Eagle Ridge, and a day at Yellowstone Park. West Yellowstone is the best place to shop for groceries. The IMAX theater was spectacular and the Grizzle Wolf musuem right next door was great fun. There are plenty of good restaurants and gift shopping in West Yellowstone as well. After we arried I was flabergasted that we were required to remove the sheets from the beds and towels out of the bathrooms and wash them on check out day. We were charged $85 for housekeeping. These are housekeeping duties. We have traveled for many years and extensivly. Never in all our travels have we been required to to remove and wash sheets, towels and take out garbage on checkout day. We are on vacation. To add to the frustration we were required to be out by 10:00 am. It was completely stressful trying to comply what with showers, preparing and cleaning up after breakfast, packing bags. For this reason we would not return. I have read all of the flowery reviews, nothing negative. So I suspect that this review will be deleated.
We will respond point by point to this review: 1. Regarding the cobwebs on the A/C vents: We always check up personally on the cleaning crew’s work prior to check-in time, and looking for or removing any little cobwebs from the inside of the cabin or the deck is one of the things we do. We weren’t able to do so in this instance because these guests arrived at least one hour early and made themselves comfortable. When we arrived a half hour prior to check-in time we picked up the trash and did outside work but did not want to disturb them by doing our usual cleaning check inside. 2. The grill is large, works fine and there is nothing second rate about it, except that the automatic lighting device doesn’t work. It lights easily with matches or the manual lighting device we provide. 3. We do have a check-out checklist posted on the refrigerator. We ask our guests to strip the sheets from the beds, gather the used towels, then run one load of wash, put that in the dryer and start a 2nd load in the washer. Less than 5% of our guests ever complain or comment on the check-out checklist. Most people do the tasks. Others occasionally do not. The purpose of the check-out checklist is to keep the cleaning fee as low as possible. If the guests didn’t help to get the time-consuming laundry work started prior to departure, the normal cleaning fee would have to be higher to cover the cleaners’ time waiting for the final laundry load to dry before folding and storing the items. The cleaning crews do a good cleaning job but they do work very quickly out of necessity. Some cleaning crews clean 2-4 homes in one day. Therefore they can’t spend too much time in one home. The cleaning crews are independent contractors and they charge by the hour. We do not make any money from cleaning fees. We simply charge the guests what the cleaners charge us. If a particular group doesn’t follow the check-out checklist their cleaning fee will often end up being higher than normal. 4. Regarding the check-out time at 10 am: We have decided to change it to 10:30 to allow time for the tasks described above. 5. Regarding the flowery reviews that have been posted by prior guests: These are all genuine and complete reviews from real guests who have stayed at our cabin. We have never deleted or edited any reviews. That is not even possible under VRBO/HomeAway’s strict policy. If a homeowner wanted to delete one review ALL reviews would need to be deleted at the same time.
Thank you so much for providing a great cabin rental. This spot was wonderful to come home to after a long day. The weather was perfect, bird watching plentiful, and animal watching spectacular. We've learned: parked cars on the side of the road mean something cool is there, so stop. Coming from Up State New York, we visit the Adirondacks and love it, but the elevation is so small in comparison, and the animals are not as noticeable. We highly recommend: Midway Geyser Basin, Canyon South Rim hike with Uncle Tom's stairs, Fairy Falls, and Virginia Cascades. Oh, and always, Old Faithful. As for eating, we would recommend Ernie's Deli in West Yellowstone, the Lake Hotel (in Yellowstone Park near Yellowstone Lake) for a nicer meal, and the Wolf Pack Brewery in West Yellowstone. The cooler was perfect to help us have cold water and food during our hiking days. Again, thank you for your accommodation. The cabin is perfect. ~ Hi, it's Sofia, 16 yr. old daughter. The view from the back bedroom was beautiful! And thanks for having Ella Enchanted in the DVD collection!
We absolutely loved the Lakeview Cabin! Beautiful view (Henry's Lake seen from the cabin - and of course the mountains). The cabin is located about 20 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance to Yellowstone National Park (West Yellowstone, MT). The cabin is fully stocked with whatever you may need (except food of course), well kept, very clean, very comfortable. If we are ever in the area again, I would certainly rent this cabin again or recommend it to family and/or friends.
We had a WONDERFUL time. I tend to rent out vacations homes on a semi annual basis and to this date have NEVER had such a lovely home. Beautiful location, lovely interior, fully stocked with sundries, impeccably clean and I mostly appreciated the directive signage. Very helpful! I appreciate the prompt refund. Hope to rent from you in the future.
My wife and I have just enjoyed a month's stay during October at the Lakeview Cabin, our second extended stay in as many years. The combination of an excellent accommodation and the natural beauty of an area of the country that is truly a national treasure continues to amaze us. October presents a fast-changing and often physically challenging environment that we gladly enter every day of our trip. We enjoy hiking, boating and fishing throughout Yellowstone, the lakes around Island Park and Southwestern Montana and the rivers of the Snake River drainage. The efficient layout and comprehensive resources at the cabin allow for quick recovery from the day and immediate transition to the world of computers, cable T.V. and evening meals that we enjoy both at home and at some incredible area restaurants. A five-minute trip to the county dock at Henry's Lake allows us access to one of the very best fishing resources in the world. Nearby access to the whitewater stretches of the South Fork of the Snake finds us experiencing exciting runs with the jet boat. The drive to West Yellowstone for access to the park is a beautiful breeze. The facilities at the cabin allow us to prepare our boat quickly each evening for whatever adventure we choose for the following day. The cabin is clean, the great room is spacious, and the Bealls are consistently available for any questions or requests. I have nothing but high regard for their professionalism and attention to detail. We happen to be fly fishers and jet boaters, but it is apparent that Lakeview Cabin can be an efficient base for almost any outdoor activity, from a setting that is closely bounded on three sides by the continental divide and on the fourth by a magnificent view of Henry's Lake and awesome mountain backdrops, including the Grand Tetons in the far distance.
Thank you for your kind words. We are thrilled that you like our home and that you enjoy the location of this cabin so much!
My husband and I, and his parents enjoyed this cabin so much I don't think words could do it justice. However we can't wait to return someday, we were amazed at how equipped and clean this rental was, and we recommend taking an ATV ride in the mountains around Island Park, the beauty is beyond description. GREAT CABIN!!!
We just finished a ten day stay at this beautiful mountain cabin. We were very impressed with the quality and how clean the cabin was. In addition it was furnished with much more than we expected including books, games, DVD's, hair dryers, and almost anything else you could want. We loved our visit and would recommend to anyone to spend some time there.
A lovely location with great views to watch evening storms. All amenities required. Moonless nights and no city lights made star watching fantastic. We had a warm welcome from Magdalena and Bruce on arrival - thank you for the chocolates and the selection of herbs/spices/oils - all the basics. The cabin suited us well and was an excellent home for a week. To recommend - Montana White Water Rafting from Gardiner, day trip suited our teenage children - it's very wet at the front! Lunch at Old Faithful Inn, ice creams anywhere :-) but especially overlooking the lake. Patience to see the wildlife, Hayden and Lamar Valley to see the herds of bison - amazing. A great week.
August 3-10, 2011 ~ We had such an enjoyable week in Island Park. Your home was clean and very comfortable; it was definitely a home away from home. The afternoon showers were infrequent and the sun rose visibly everyday but one. I suppose we never got used to the amount of driving required to see everything, but the large cooler was a great asset. The stars are brilliant here and we're grateful to have visited this part of the country. Voted Tops by our family: - Hiking in Yellowstone; - Wildlife and many of the familiar hydrothermal sites in Yellowstone; - Mesa Falls (which rival the canyon in their beauty); - Driving to the top of Sawtell Mountain (local) to see the shiny globe; - Geocaching around Island Park; - Whitewater rafting in Big Sky. Class 3/4 is not too much for a seven year old; - Reading and relaxing at the very clean cabin. ~ Blessings to your family and those who come after us.
On Monday my mother and I went on an all-day horse ride. We saw marmots, moose, a black bear from about 10 ft. away, etc. I highly recommend the ride with Stephanie. While we were doing that, my father and brother were on an all-day fly fishing trip on the Madison River. We also bought some gorgeous rocks from New Pioneer Rock Shop. We saw (almost) all the wonders of Yellowstone. I enjoyed the hot springs the most. I enjoyed the vacation. Thank you! P.S If you would like to do an all-day horse ride, you need a strong back. :-) ~ As my daughter noted, a strong back is good for horseback riding! We used Yellowstone Wilderness Outfitters and had a great day. This house and location were perfect for our family of four as we traveled all over Yellowstone and south to Mesa Falls, Big Spring and Harriman State Park. The weather was also perfect and we did not use the A/C or the heat. We very much enjoyed our break from the 105 degrees in Dallas. Thanks so much for letting us use your lovely home.
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thanks so much for sharing your lovely cabin with us. We went so many places and so much of this beautiful part of the country. Yellowstone, Tetons, Mesa Waterfalls, lovely rolling hills that stretch forever. And your place is like a "home away from home." We have enjoyed it so much! Took your advice and took the highway to the Grand Tetons - it was an awesome ride! Can't say enough. Thank you for your hospitality,
"This is the perfect house from which to experience Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. On a clear day (and we enjoyed many) you can more than faintly see from the front deck and living room the Tetons' peaks beyond the beautiful Henry's Lake. Even taking into account how many other reviewers remarked favorably about our hosts' responsiveness to their guests, we were still overwhelmed by their care and quick actions, by how well they maintain the home and by how well they supplied it for us. We couldn't improve on anything and we wouldn't have changed a thing." Jim~ "We had a great time! We loved watching the lightning and fireworks from the front window. The view was amazing and the porch was comfortable. I suggest going to the Wood Side Bakery and having one of their amazing cinnamon rolls. Yellowstone was so much fun to hike! My favorite was the South Rim of Canyon. Have a great stay to whoever is next!" 12-year old daughter
June 18-24, 2011 Thank you for a lovely cabin. We truly enjoyed our family vacation in Yellowstone Park. The book on the canoe shelf was really helpful, "Yellowstone Treasures." I highly recommend it to anyone driving in the park everyday. We saw so many animals ~ elk, 1000's of bison, black bear, grizzly, prong horn, moose ~ amazing! We drove into the park, as early as possible to get a good start and avoid traffic. We packed picnics each day and ate in the park. Canyon Village and Old Faithful both have great cafeterias and grills. Don't miss Grand Prismatic Spring, it's more amazing than Old Faithful! We attended the West Yellowstone rodeo ~ cute and our kids loved it! (But a bit pricey for an hour of entertainment. $12/adults & 12 and older; $9.00/kids). In town we loved Ernie's Bakery & Deli for a quick breakfast. Thanks from Missouri... P.S. The cabin is the cleanest and most comfortable VRBO we have ever used. We were so pleased with the quality of the cabin. As a family of 5, we had plenty of room and felt at home each night. There is nothing they miss when it comes to things you might need for your Yellowstone stay. The beds are so comfortable and the bedding is very nice. Even my kids noticed! Thank you for a wonderful home away from home. I would recommend this cabin to anyone! Once again, Thank you—absolutely wonderful vacation.
June 15, 2011 Such a nice, clean, comfortable cabin. So nice to come home to after a long day out. All the comforts of home. Spent a lot of time in Yellowstone, plus one night and two days in Cody at the rodeo and Wild Bill Cody Museum - great fun. We saw elk, bison, a huge grizzly, wolf, deer, marmot, etc. The views are spectacular - what a special time with our family. We have laughed until our sides hurt. Thanks for a lifetime experience.
This is a very cozy house to spend the holiday in. Neat, well decorated, beautiful view, and nice walk. Although we only stayed for two days, we really had a good time here. Felt completely relaxed as a holiday should be. Many thanks Bealls, for creating such a wonderful experience of Yellowstone staying. All the BEST! The Chens Family from Santa Clara & Ying Feng and son Marco from China
The cabin is much more beautiful and cozier than in the pictures! Comfortable and relaxing. Highlights: Yellowstone (but lots of driving): 1) Buffalo (bison), especially baby buffalo! 2) Old Faithful, fountain paint pots, geyser pools/springs 3) Mammoth Hot Springs 4) Fly fishing Madison River, Pine Butte, Raynolds Pass with West Yellowstone Fly Shop owner Justin Spence 5) Beautiful scenery - lake, wild animals, rivers We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. Thanks, Magdalena and Bruce!
The home is immaculately clean. It was a comfortable base for vacationing in one of the most beautiful and interesting places in the nation. Information provided for use of the property was thorough and helpful. Amenities were thoughtfully anticipated by the hosts. Requests were quickly and comprehensively handled. The neighborhood is clean and appears to be well-maintained. The management was fair in both its pricing and considerations of our deposit. Cost was reasonable.
9/21-10/3/10 Your wonderful cabin added a lot to our great vacation at Yellowstone. I've been telling everyone these past 2 weeks, that this is the best equipped vacation rental we've ever had. It really enhanced the wonderful Yellowstone experience. We've seen all the animals you hope to see at Yellowstone - grizzly, black bear, elk, buffalo (including nursing babies), wolf, coyote, marmot, and finally, the elusive moose! Thank you so much for providing the provisions that helped enrich this "Yellowstone Experience."
September 17-21, 2010 We had a fantastic time visiting Yellowstone National Park. Lakeview Cabin provided a perfect base on which to come home to after a long day in the Park. We found the cabin very relaxing and the views were spectacular. The cabin is equipped with everything you need and the info books are really useful. Yellowstone is an amazing place. We tried to cover as much as possible in the three days we had, but it is impossible as the Park is so huge. We managed to see a brown bear cub, bison, deer, coyote, marmot and even a snake! We saw the bear and snake at Mammoth (on the way to Beaver Ponds). Tip: The old Faithful Geyser is great. However, we much preferred the Riverside Geyser in the Old Faithful area. Make sure you visit the Old Faithful Inn - it's amazing inside. Finally, thanks to Bruce and Magdalena for letting us rent your wonderful cabin.
September 10-17, 2010 We have enjoyed our stay in your home so much! It is so comfortable and well supplied, there was nothing we needed that you hadn't already thought of. We thought a week there would be enough time to do everything .... wrong! There is so much more to do and see, we may have to come back :-) Thanks again. P.S. The "queen size" bed in the back bedroom was very comfortable.
September 3-10, 2010 I have enjoyed your beautiful cabin. It has made me feel very much at home. The country is gorgeous and it has thrilled my soul to be here. If at all possible I would like to come back again. Wishing you and your family all the best,
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you so much for a fabulous vacation - a "home away from home."We stayed from June 20-26 and would love to stay longer - this is incredible beautiful country. The six days here were just enough to give us a flavor for Yellowstone and the surrounding area. We appreciate your hospitality and will highly recommend Lakeview Cabin to all of our friends and family! Some of our visits included Yellowstone, whitewater rafting on the Gallatin River, Big Spring, Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, Sawtell Peak - and today we're on our way to the Tetons. Thanks again for a lifetime experience! Sincerely,
Bruce and Magdalena, From my first email to you until now has been a pleasant experience. Your cabin is spectacular and the views are breathtaking. You have not overlooked a thing in making someone's vacation perfect. I am sitting here writing this and watching the sun rise. Words cannot describe the majestic scenery. I feel like I am inside of a picture postcard. Best of luck to you in selling this home. Someone will be very lucky. Thanks again for sharing your home!
If this home did get sold, the closing wouldn't happen until the end of the rental season and we would honor all bookings.
May 24-27, 2010 We all truly enjoyed staying at Lakeview Cabin. We covered over 3500 miles in less than 8 days and this was the only place we stayed that we really liked and wanted to stay longer. The proximity to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, and general shopping made it perfect. Although our daughter didn't see a bear on the deck as she had hoped she would, we did enjoy all the beautiful birds and the chipmunks. God Bless!
Just to reassure future guests - this home has never had a bear on the deck! Not sure why the daughter expected that to happen. We just wanted prospective renters to be aware of that. Magdalena and Bruce Beall
February 17-21, 2010We love your home, so beautiful! We enjoyed coming back each evening to enjoy a warm fire and relaxing meal. We had a lot of fun snowmobiling with our friends, really enjoying the beautiful views and nature. We've told our friends how great your home was and added so much to our whole holiday experience. Thanks again,
September 30-October 6, 2009 Our family had a "magical" time. The cabin was something out of a dream, and far exceeded our expectations. We even had snow - huge if you're from Florida. We were so impressed with the care that was taken to make us feel so welcome. We will remember these days forever.
September 3-11, 2009 Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you so much for letting us have the opportunity to rent your beautiful cabin. It met all of our expectations and more! We had a wonderful time exploring Yellowstone, The Tetons, Cody and Jackson Hole. We saw lots of animals - elk, grizzly bear, eagle, deer, and bison. We had fun in Jackson riding a covered wagon and having a cowboy dinner and entertainment. We will always have great memories of our trip. Thanks.
We stayed at the Lakeview Cabin for 5 nights (check in: 8/29/09, check out 9/3/09) and had a wonderful time. Our party included 4 adults, so we did not use the third bedroom (it is quite small with 2 bunk beds; probably best for children). The cabin is bright, comfortable and very well maintained. The setting overlooking Lake Henry is quite beautiful, and the development is VERY quiet (we heard virtually no noise from the other properties during our entire stay). The cabin is well furnished with plenty of dishes, towels and kitchen items. There is also considerable literature pertinent to exploration of Yellowstone the Grand Teton National parks. Importantly, we found dealing with the owners to be a pleasant experience. They seemed to have a genuine interest in making our stay in their cabin enjoyable. We highly recommend this property!!
8/21-8/26/09 We had a wonderful time ... so much to do and so little time to do it. We saw Mesa Falls, Quake Lake, Sawtell Mountain, Yellowstone Park, we went fly fishing on South Henry Fork, we went to the sand dunes of St. Anthony and we visited Bear Country. The best part was just being together as a family!! It has been a while. Thanks for the cabin - you made a "home away from home" for us. You provided everything we needed for a memorable vacation. Good luck and God bless you,
8/1-8/9/2009 This cabin was more than we had hoped for - super clean, amazing view and it felt very welcoming. This was mostly everyone's first time at Yellowstone and we all enjoyed it. There was so much wildlife (the best timing was 5 PM-8 PM). We would like to thank you, Bruce and Magdalena, for allowing us to use your cabin. While we stayed here we went whitewater rafting which is a must, horseback riding, and took the long drive to the Tetons which was so worth it. Even though it was a long drive, we hiked around String Lake and got some beautiful pictures. Everything here was greatly appreciated. Thanks again,
8/9-16, 2009 We had such an amazing time at Yellowstone. It will be a vacation to remember! There was so much to do and the cabin was in the perfect spot. It was so close to everything! It had absolutley everything we needed and the beds were super comfy! Make sure to check out the Yellowstone Expedition Guide that is on the table! It has so many neat places we would have missed without it. It was definitely an amazing place - one we need to come back to again! We loved the cabin and we want to thank you again for everything!
7/19/2009 – 7/26/2009 Visiting Yellowstone was a dream for all four of us - it was just what we hoped for – phenomenal! During our stay we saw all the Yellowstone essentials (the mighty bison, Old Faithful, and the most beautiful site of all - Tower Falls and the Yellowstone River Canyon). We also traveled to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole, WY. The Tetons are spectacular, and we even got a chance to swim in the beautiful and refreshingly chilly Jenny Lake. The cabin served us very well. It was very spacious, comfortable and cozy. And that view! Superb. In fact we wish we had more time to enjoy the cabin, the parks and everything in between since a lot of our time here was spent in the car, being stuck in the “bison traffic jams." On one occasion, it took us two hours to get to the cabin from the Madison Junction because a bison family decided to use the road to get home. It was definitely worth it to drive here all the way from Metro Detroit area. Thank you, and, as Arnold used to say, “We’ll be back.” Dominik, Katie, Adrian, DorotaLivonia and Canton, MichiganOriginally from Brzeg, Poland
July 26 - August 1, 2009 We had wanted to visit Yellowstone for ages, but it seemed an awfully long way from the UK. Eventually we planned it into a 5 week tour of some of your nationals parks, and here we are! We couldn't have chosen anywhere nicer to stay, to get over the noise of Vegas and jet lag. We were able to break our journey overnight in beautiful Salt Lake City, and eventually arrived here in a thunderstorm. Your house was immediately welcoming and spotlessly clean. We appreciated the extra touches such as the playing cards (well used by the kids), and the guide books (well used by the adults!) The washing machine and dryer were also essential when traveling with children. The house proved a perfect starting point to explore Yellowstone. We geyser spotted, swam in the Firehole River, spotted grizzlies, photographed bison, and just simply took in the views. We are sad to leave Yellowstone, but now journey onto Arches, Canyon lands, Zion, Bryce and Yosemite. What a beautiful country you have - you are so lucky. Thank you for sharing your house. P.S. Tip for visitors - when you see a traffic jam in the Park it usually means wildlife has been spotted, also it's a long drive to the Tetons, but worth it!
7/4-7/19/09 Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation! The majority of our family all together for the first time and it was a great time! The cabin was beautiful! One of the nicest places we have ever rented. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful and made us feel like we were long time residents. There was plenty of bedding for everyone as well as linens. The DirecTV was great as well as wireless internet. We saw bison, marmot, elk, and a ton of antelope in the West Yellowstone entrance. The town of West Yellowstone was so nice and quaint. We shopped at every store in and saw everything there was to see! We saw every kind of weather we could imagine. It was great having the washer and dryer especially with "fishermen" in the family. The games and books and magazines were terrific! We went white water rafting in Gardiner at the North entrance. Great time and much more reasonable. Overall, it was a wonderful, great and terrific trip. Thank you! The John Parkey Family, Peoria, AZ 7/4-7/19/09 We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! We have been in this area several times before, but always in a motor home ... This was by far the most luxurious way to go! Loved the washer and dryer! We revisited the ranger station at Quake Lake - it's so interesting. We drove to Ennis and had lunch and did some shopping while our husbands fished Harrison Lake. We drove down to the Old Kirby Place Fishing Lodge in Montana, took pictures of the wooden bridge. If you go there, be sure to shut off the AC and roll down the car windows and listen as you drive across. We loved the rain - we see it so seldom in Phoenix. We saw the most beautiful double rainbow right outside our window to the east - the colors were so distinct and vibrant! We shopped West Yellowstone inside out. We loved the water falls in Yellowstone and watched a bald eagle and her baby ... Enjoyed just relaxing on the patio, reading a good book. It was so nice to have the DSL for our laptop. It will be nice to go home and not have to check hundreds of emails! We have loved the location of your home - it's so convenient to so many activities/adventures in the area! Thank you for opening your home to us. Harry & Joyce Vaupell, Phoenix, AZ
June 17-24, 2009 We enjoyed our stay at the cabin (especially the views and the nesting bluebirds). We visited Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons and Mesa Falls. We saw plenty of wildlife like bison, coyote, bald eagle, elk, moose, black bear with cubs, big horn sheep, red fox, grizzly bear, etc. We saw two bison fighting each other. This trip was a great break from the extreme Texas heat! We had a wonderful experience and hope others can too. Take Care,
6/10 - 6/17, 2009 We enjoyed our stay in your cabin. The beds were very comfortable and we really appreciated the extra touches you have for your guests. It made our stay here extra comfortable. Our kids did not want to leave. The weather was very cold with clouds and rain, but it did not take away from our visit to Yellowstone. We saw bison (up close - one ran after our car!) elk, mule deer, a bald eagle and a coyote. We would recommend this cabin to anyone coming up here. Also, thanks for your emails before the trip. We were driving pretty far and not sure what to expect. Your emails were appreciated. Take Care,
Dear Bruce and Magdalena, Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We loved the house and enjoyed it a lot - we did not want to leave. It's beautiful and the view is amazing. I will recommend the cabin to anyone who is interested. I really appreciated the prompt response to getting the TV to play DVDs. Sincerely,
April 30 - May 3, 2009 It was just like coming home each time when we returned from a trip to that beautiful Yellowstone Park. A lovely, very well furnished home in a beautiful location, with lots of atmosphere and a fantastic view of the lake. Unfortunately not all roads in Yellowstone National Park were open, but we got a very good impression of the diversity in natural features the park has to offer. Next time I'd like to see more bears - I only saw one grizzly from a distance. And we totally missed out on the moose. But other than that we didn't lack for anything. The snow added extra charm to our visit. And it was still wonderfully quiet everywhere. We will surely enjoy looking back on our stay here. We hope to be back. Thanks again.
12/25/08 - 1/4/09 Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. We really enjoyed our stay. The snow was great. We enjoyed a couple of days of skiing at Big Sky and Grand Targhee, and the snowmobiling was awesome. We drove up to the north entrance of Yellowstone and saw a bunch of bison and elk, and some antelope on the way. We also saw a mama moose and baby across the street at Henry's Lake. A couple of days before we left we saw two wolves out in the pasture almost at the end of the road before you get on 20. It was great. We loved every minute of our stay and we hate to go back home! We hope to return with the kids in the summer. Again, thanks!
10/5 - 10/8/08 This was our first trip to Yellowstone as a family and we couldn't have had a better experience. The cabin was all we were hoping for and more. On our second day in the Park we were coming into Hayden Valley from the South. I stopped to glass the hillside to the NE and saw a bull elk with 20 cows. He began to bugle and a minute later another bull came over to the ridge. The two began to clash, with the herd bull running off the interloper. At that time two more bulls came running in from the right. Bull #1 ran those two off as well. He started moving his harem into the woods below when he was challenged again by a bull coming in from the left. Actually watching bull elk do battle with all of the bellowing, the dust flying and the clashing of the horns is something I'll never forget, even at a good distance. I look forward to returning to this cabin in the future and hoping to have another remarkable experience. I would recommend this cabin to everyone. The first thing I noticed was "it was so clean." You thought of everything right down to night lights. Thank you for making our first but not last visit to Yellowstone a wonderful time. We feel we were blessed. No rainy days and just jacket weather. The trees were in fall colors. After coming back from a long day in the park it was nice to come to a place that felt like home and better. It was a beautiful experience all in all. Thank you for your part in it. Mike, Tammy, Mic, and Derek Clulff, Boise, ID
9/28/08 Wonderful week here at Lakeview Cabin. Visited Yellowstone and Jackson. Weather could not have been better. Karen & H.C. Royall, Roaring Gap, NC Wow! What an incredible cabin! Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our visit to the area - tried to do it all! Need to come back! Thanks for much for the use of your wonderful cabin. It's so charming and comfortable! Chip & Malissa Day, Matthews, NC
August 21-27, 2008 The four of us had the time of our lives! The cabin was spotless and decorated perfectly. The bathrooms were beautiful, immaculate and everything you could want was made available. We saw everything except bears and that was ok with us. Cooking at "home" was easy with a kitchen that was fully equipped; each restaurant we went to had excellent food too! (We ate in West Yellowstone several times - locals were extremely helpful and warm) We are thinking of doing a winter trip if we can ever get over Hurricane Ike! We will need to get away from the gulf coast and I can't think of a better place to do it. Mike & Rene - Houston Area
9/6 - 9/13/08 What a wonderful vacation home! The four of us (cousins from Iowa and California) have enjoyed using the Lakeview Cabin as our home-away-from-home this past week. We made several trips into Yellowstone and enjoyed all the sights of the Park. Our wildlife sightings included bison, elk, deer, bear and coyote. What a thrill! We spent a day exploring the Tetons and enjoyed the majesty of the mountain peaks. Our stay at Lakeview Cabin exceeded our expectations and we appreciated the library and other information that was available. Our only regret is that we can't stay longer. Thank you. Karen and Dave Greene, Iowa Barbar and John Buckton, California

8/30 - 9/6/08 Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin. We have rented cabins all over the U.S. and this one outshines them all. You have thought of everything a renter may need. We weren't sure how easy it would be getting our motorcycle to your cabin - but it was not a problem at all. Our best meal was at the Bar-N-Ranch - it reminded us of "Bonanza - The Ponderosa" - great steaks and atmosphere. Having satellite TV allowed us to keep up with the hurricanes back home. Yellowstone was wonderful. God Bless you both! The Mays Family, Florida
8/21/08 What a wonderful place! So peaceful and idyllic! Spent several days in Yellowstone - the best place to see wildlife was the Lamar Valley. Plenty of bison, elk, moose and even a bear. Went ATVing - at Sawtell Peak Rd - very friendly, great machines - with High Mountain Adventures. Saw bear and moose family on the route he suggested. The sandwiches at "Ernie's Deli" were delicious (on Highway 20 in West Yellowstone). Couple of nice restaurants were: - Angler's Lodge on Highway 20 (south) - Boondock's at Yale Kilgore Rd (south on Highway 20) Hope to come back some day! Thank you. The Gatrad Family, CA
8/15/08 The Hughes family from Camas, WA had a wonderful time visiting the area. We went horseback riding at the Diamond P Ranch, they were great. We saw elk, bison, osprey, squirrels and eagles in Yellowstone. The boys enjoyed the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay! Mike, Michelle, Michael and Josh
We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. We spent most of our days in Yellowstone National Park. Awesome! We've seen a black bear and cubs, bison, elk, a bald eagle and deer. Bruce and Magdalena, thank you for your hospitality in this beautiful home. Jack, Ilona, Maarten and Marieke Lous, Breda, The Netherlands
July 13-20, 2008 What a wonderful place! Your cabin is PERFECT and the location is great. We've spent a great week. Many thanks for all the details. We felt "at home." We hope to be back soon and will recommend your cabins to our friends. Many thanks to Magdalena and Bruce for the perfect organization since the first mail. God bless you. Laurent, Catherine and children, France
July 10-13, 2008 First We want to thank Our Heavenly Father, Our Lord Jesus and The Holly Spirit for blessing us with these last three days and three nights for seeing more of His wonderful creation. We also thank Him for allowing us to choose this home, and we pray blessings over this home and the owners. Thank you very much - we had a wonderful time. In Jesus Name Arthur, Susan, Mary Beth, Joshua, Gabriel & Abigail, Wyoming
6/30-7/10/08 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this cabin with its spectacular view of the mountains and lake. We found all the comforts of home every day of our vacation. All the little touches were appreciated. We spend 3 days in Yellowstone making the complete circuit through the Park. We saw buffalo, elk, grizzly and black bears (and cubs), deer, eagles and osprey. Our favorite spots were the Canyon at Artist Point and Yellowstone Lake. We would recommend spending time there when you can stop and enjoy everything for a while. We made a day trip to Mesa Falls and Jackson Hole (via the Grand Targhee Resort where we rode the chair lift to the peak of Fred Mountain for a great view of the Tetons. We also white water rafted the Gallatin River in Montana and the Snake River in Wyoming and tubed down the Henry's Fork of the Snake River south towards Ashton. We found the best grocery prices and gas prices in Ashton. If you have the chance, stop at the Frost Top Drive-In for a burger and a float! We went went to the Dinner Theatre at Mack's Inn and saw "The Phantom of the Grand Ole Opery" and had a great time! If you are here over the 4th of July, take in the West Yellowstone fireworks - a great show for a small town! Our time was well spent and a blessing to our family. Thanks to Bruce and Magdalena for sharing their cabin and hospitality and to God for His handiwork! The Bruess & Woodard Families Blaine, MN and Janesville, WI
Our family of six had a great week, and the house was so comfortable for us. The two grandkids had their own room with bunkbeds, and then my daughter and her husband had a bedroom, and my husband and I had our own. It was just perfect. The beds were very comfortable too. We enjoyed the deck and gorgeous view every morning as we drank our coffee. My son in law got out his binoculars and spotted antelope every morning. We also had a friendly little prairie dog visit us on the deck. The knotty pine walls and ceiling were beautiful too. We would highly recommend this wonderful house.
June 7-14, 2008 This is a FABULOUS cabin!! It is amazingly decorated! The view is so BEAUTIFUL and you can see all the way across the lake. On our last day we traveled around the lake and saw three moose (a male, female and a baby). Thank you so much for letting us stay here - we enjoyed it very much! P.S. We hope to come back soon. Todd, Sherri, Karen and Nicholas Harbin, Conyers, GA Laura and Jean Dunn, Thomaston, GA
We greatly enjoyed our stay at your comfortable cabin. The view was nice, the amenities were plentiful, and the close location to Yellowstone (only about 20-25 minutes to the west gate) made exploring the park a breeze. We made extensive use of your nicely stocked kitchen (even the stir-fry pan!), and the plush mattresses, comforters and pillows were a welcome relief after long days in the park. -Jill
5/31-6/7/08 Margaret and Jerry Morris, Arlington, VA We have had a wonderful week, including all of the crazy weather! What a great cabin! ... and in such a beautiful setting. While the photos on the web were impressive they don't do justice to this lovely cabin and the view. We had a wonderful time this week visiting the park! Your cabin is beautifully outfitted with great cookware, plenty of utensils, dishes, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and fabulous mattresses and bed linens! It is one of the nicest cabins we have stayed in. We felt more like friends using your place rather than a rental. Thanks so much for a great experience! We would recommend it to all our friends visiting Yellowstone. Many of the guide books were helpful in planning our days sightseeing in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Margaret and Jerry
We had a wonderful vacation at your cabin. This is one of the best cabins I have ever stayed. The cabin was very clean with huge living room and located at an excellent location (I loved the snow covered mountain view from the bedroom and the lake view), actually it looks much more beautiful than in the pictures and its just 20 minutes from West entrance. Above all, the cabin owners are very friendly (not to mention I called them after 9PM and asked for the security code to get in). I would surely recommend this place to my friends. Thank you
